see in a hand like that the point that was made was did someone flop a higher flush than you did, and i perfectly agree that with that many people throwing money around that your flush may not have been the best at the time. even those people betting huge with the ace or king of clubs would scare me because if another club comes up you lose automatically so that seems like alot of money on a small flush even though it may be two cards. There is no way you can get away from the hand and have to go all in on the flop but your odds of winning the hand are not as good as it seems. The only way you get away from it is if you fold pre if someone had raised.

You checked after the flop and saw a tremendous amount of action. Most people would have a very tough time getting a way from that one. I have also seen a similar situation live. BB had low cards suited in spades, middle had KhKs and the LP had AXs. The flop was three spades (all < K) so two players had flushes (one with the nut) and one had a flush draw. The BB made a pot sized bet and the KK folded. The BB lost his chips to the nut. Chalk it up to a very tough night. First hand and out, OUCH.

I play a little tighter then most, but I would have to think that the 24c would not be the nuts with 9 people staying in for the flop. With that many cards out, it would stand to reason that someone else had a better flush, and with all the raising and reraising I would probably have gotten out of the pot right after the flop with all that betting. I dont think that may people would be throwing in that kind of money if ALL of them were on draws. Just my opinion.

last night I limp in with 7-6 clubs and flop another flush I bet 10 dollars after te flop and it was raised to 30 dollars and then it was called by another peson it came bacl to me and I moved in on top of the 30 for another 150 to put me all in the guy who raised to 30 folded his top pair(queens) and the other guy a young kid looked at me and I told him I know you are on a draw and im going to make you pay to draw out on me and he said yeah its a big price and he calls with his ace high flush draw and I was sick because all I could think was that he would hit his flush on the river to beat me like he has everyone else on the river so when the turn and river didn't help him it put the 400+ pot into my corner of the table so thank you all for your comments on my last flush everyone has their own opinion and thats cool I just thought differently in the heat oif the moment ![]()

| Another aspect of this was that it was the first hand, so you didn't know how the table was playing in terms of tight or loose, right? I'm hesitant to make any big moves (unless I know I've got the nuts) until I get a sense of the players. I will make decisions according to how solid the players are. If a tight player makes a big bet, and there's a lot of ways I could be beaten, I try to lay it down. That's what they say after all, the measure of a good player is not in what they decide to play, but in what they decide to lay down.
