I like suited connecters but only in certain situations. I like them when i'm in position. I almost never call in early position. I may call when i have alot of chips, and when i know everybody is playing tight and playing premium cards hoping to hit a low flop.

I would never call such a high raise with K4 of hearts...imo it's a silly thing to do, ur chances of winning are really low...Of course there are plenty of factors that can influence ur decision.Suited connectors are a different story...i don't like them too much but they seem to win hands..i've started betting on them more and it's paying off...Surprinsingly

Don't ussually play suited connectors unless i have A something or both cards higher than 9...the odds are relatively small to get the flush. By the way..the guy that called that big raise with suited K4 probably had a well thought strategy..maybe he thought the other guy was bluffing...or maybe he was just a noob. Although i don't rush into judging people but i would say that most likely the guy was noob. Calling with the suited K4 was bad play in the end..

Does anyone know what the statistics are for hands that are suited, versus those that are not?

I was playing this weekend and the topic came up. One guy said that having suited cards only increase your chances of winning by 2%. That seemed a little low,,, is that right?

So, if I have , that is only 2 percent better then ?

I would have guessed it is more...

Smile Suited Connectors

Suited connectors are good to play if they are mid or upper range cards. K4 however, I don't think is wise to play. I don't like any High-Low combo unless there is an Ace. Although, it does seem that K8 hits alot. I have started to play that combo more.
