Default Dream Poker - Targeting 7 States

I receieved this information yesterday. It seems there is some confusion as to whether it is prima of owners of different sites using prima. Dream Poker said it was a prima decision. Purple Lounge's decision to ban all US players leads me to believe individiual prima sites are making decisions.

There are a lot of prima sites out there, so you may want to check in with yours to find out.

Prima poker is locking the members from 7 states that have laws set against online gambling. From what I was told if you have deposited or met the requirements on freeroll winnings you have to contact support and the will open your account to withdraw your funds.

Thankfully Im not in one of the 7 states. Most all the states that are listed actually have casinos in the state. Kind of weird that you can have a lottery and horseracing and allow river boat gambling and in the state of Nevada prostitution but want to outlaw online gaming. Tax it make it legal and regulate it. But dont take my rights away.

i hope that that will not happen and all of us will still playing together..

Anyone know which 7 states are banned? I'm in Texas, where there are no casinos allowed. Personally if I get banned, I'll get back into the gym more and get back into shape plus maybe host a few more live games. I've had a good run online for the past two years.

Default Further Info from DreamPoker

Below is a recent email I received after making my withdrawl from DreamPoker. I will say I am glad to hear this is NOT a prima/micro thing.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

This letter serves to clarify the recent decision by DreamPoker to stop accepting play from players from 7 states in the United States of America (Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Missouri, Nevada, Washington, Wisconsin).
1. Please note that this decision was a decision taken by DreamPoker on its own and is not a decision taken by either the Prima Poker network or Microgaming. This decision was not forced on DreamPoker by Prima Poker or Microgaming but was a decision taken by DreamPoker based on current legislation in the USA.
2. This decision only affects players from the abovementioned states and in no way affects players from any other states in the USA. Play continues as normal in other states.
3. The accounts of non depositors have been locked and no further play will be accepted on those accounts including freerolls.
4. The accounts of depositing players are being left opened until 11 October in order to facilitate withdrawals of any remaining balances in those accounts. DreamPoker kindly requests that those players refrain from playing further on DreamPoker. These accounts will be locked after 11 October.

DreamPoker sincerely regrets the inconvenience this may have caused to any of its players. DreamPoker would like to thank all those affected players for their support of the site until now.

Thanks for the info Dov. Well, we all know that Nevada has plenty of casinos and so does Louisiana. All a person has to do is show a fake address or use a relative's address. I'm not sure what they are trying to accomplish.

Anyone with an established account and wants to change addresses will be asked for proof. I guess that would be something you could do with a new account. (I had asked them what I could do if I was moving soon.)

This decision is to protect them should legal action fall on them in the US. They can tell the government they made the attempt to close those accounts so people in those states cannot play. I would guess while many of those states say it is illegal to play the punishment is harsher for those who promote or provide ways for people to play.
