While not currently as popular as Texas Hold’em, 7-card stud is a very exciting game that has been widely played for generations. The basic premise of 7-card stud is to make the best 5 card hand of the 7 cards you are dealt. Of these 7 cards, 3 are delivered face down as hole cards, and 4 are delivered face up for the tables viewing, however these are not community cards as in Texas Hold’em. Hands are ranked in the standard Poker way, and any 5 of the 7 cards may be used, and kickers and split pots operate exactly the same as in Hold’em. Aces play both high and low for the purposes of a straight.

i love 7 card stud, not as much as nl holdem but i do well at it & i seem to cash quite a bit from it

Ive seen it on the WSOP but i havnt tested it. It sounds good though.

if you want to test it like any other game ur not sure of best way is to play play money or very low limits. I know when u play fro play money people call everything but at least u can learn the basics of the game

Is the guy (or gal) who raises the buy in every time. And I mean EVERY time. If the buy in is .10 he/she raises to 25 each time then, 3/4 or more of the time ends up folding on 5th street. I just can't figure out what they are trying to do. I can see trying to reduce the field maybe, but since they do it EVERY hand eveybody else soon sees what's up and simply calls or re-raises until the damn buy in on a .25/.50 game looks like a 1/2 or higher game.

Oh hell, I suppose the guy has a reason that makes sense to him.
