I can't say if i believe in God. I'm orthodox, raised in communism time (and communism don't give a damn about church for 50 years).. My country was made from many different countries now and from 3 religions (islam (orthodox serbs changing to islam before 200 years when country was at turkish rule (now bosnians) , catholic (croatians), and biggest population - orthodox (serbs)). So in that 50 years in communism time everything about religion and churches was destroyed and religion wasn't a good thread to mention then.. religion became a cause of war later when communism crashed..

damn, i made it historical and political thread.. i'm not sure about my believing in God, but i believe in something. what is luck? Does God gives the luck for those who deserve it and bad luck for those who don't? in poker luck is everything (let's change the subject) you can be dealt AA every hand in wsop, but if anytime you're dealt it somebody puts you on move preflop (you must call it of course). if you lose your first shot, you're gone, you want be dealt AA second time in any thing and job i'm doing i believe in something. when i play poker i believe in Poker Gods who distribute a luck. I played really good tourneys tonight, and in any of them i didn't had it. in biggest tourney (100K guaranteed) i moved with AKh.. i had KK against but hey, i saw people winning that? next and last hand i moved on half deck draw.. did i hit it? if i did i wouldn't call it last hand. in consolidation froll i lost AQ vs A10 (with 1010 on flop - just to be sure if i had AA i won't win that too). in other buyin i lost AJ vs 33 coin flip, in BBP i lost AQ vs 1010 and KQ vs JJ. i can't remember i won anything where i needed luck to do that (not too much luck, only a little). luck need to be deserved, and i think i didn't deserve it for tonight.. i'll give my best (i swear Poker Gods) for deserving it for next big event where i'll play

Luck is luck, it cannot be deserved. But if you believe in god, whatever is in your fate will happen. Ummm..this really isn't sounding pokerish....Ok i'll stop.

Dovla what you're going through is very common...I'm sure every other person here would agree with me. I myself went through a phase where I could predict the river card one after another that would make my opponent the best hand.

My advice: Don't worry too much about it. 1/3 of poker is luck. 2/3 is skill dependent. So try and master the other 2/3rds.

i patially disagree. Luck isnt all poker. a large portion but not all. As for luck and god? Well for each his own. I know this for a fact, if there is a god, he has or she, has a very very sick and demented sense of humor. The things he allows to happen is well a high high price to pays for the gift, ha, of free will.

does he control luck? does she dish it out? i think not some people can access it better than others. access it? yes its in all of us. just like knowledge. we are all smart in our own way. some use our brains, some dont. some more some than others. we use whats inside us. we make what we are not our parents,preacher,god. we do. we take whats around us and adapt or give up and die.

you know when your having what you consider a good and lucky night? Do you feel it? can you feel the calmness? The tingle in your chest? The oneness of your self? Thats the spot where it comes from. If we could learn to tap into that at all times think where we would be as a whole. I believe that where luck is. We make it.
Forgive me if i have offended anyone. These are my thoughts and beliefs. sorry if i rambled too much.
