Default Poker League Game#11 Results

We had another nice friendly game tonight. 17 registered and there were 3 sitouts. Earlier in the game Irongirl was knocked out by godlike's higher full house. He was the initial CL i believe. After 20-30 minutes passed, I saw myself doing quite well...bullying everyone (as godlike and elon would call it) and stacking chips. Soon we were on the final table and big hands came in play.

One hand I had AK. I raised in early position and ssmoth went allin with KJ..However, due to my recent bad phase with AK, I decided to fold. Turned out that had I called it, I would have won and knocked out 2 players.

After finding that i could've won that hand, I was on tilt for a while. I moved all-in with some mediocre hands(A9, KJ) and paid the price. Soon I lost my CL and was short stack. At one point I was down to 2.5k chips and blinds being 1k/500...Rite then i started catching cards like JJ and QQ that brought be back in the game and soon i found myself finishing first. Was a great roller coaster ride for me.

Jiggy played well hanging on to his stack initially and at the end making some good moves with good hands. Last hand though, he i raised with J9 and jiggy called with 27. Flop was ...I was quite happy with the flop..I bet and he called. Turn was another and he went allin. I was confident he was bluffing on the turn and so i called. I don't remember what the river card was but it did not give him the straight. And i won the hand and the game.

Game Results:

1. Guru...$40
2. jiggy...$20
3. ssmoth..$12 (knocked out Lytspeed)
4. dovla...$8
5. godlikev..$4
6. elon...$4
7. fred...$4
8. dof...$2
9. 123law..$2

Sorry I couldn't join again tonight, guys. My work and home life schedule simply has not been compatible with the BBP tourney schedule lately. I'll be back in there eventually though, making things tough for you guys again.

(I did register, even though I knew I wouldn't be able to play tonight. I wanted someone to have the bounty points for knocking me out. Congrats, Smooth!)

really great game.. congrats to all.. and especially alf for unbelivable play in a row.. i think he was 1st or 2nd in last 4-5 tourneys we had..

i really admire and respect you and your style of play. you are master of comebacks, you know how and when to switch gears, when to bully (and you do it often - and i think that's the best way in tight tourneys with big blinds), when to limp with AA..
you went from 1k chips to winner in 7-8 minutes tonight. that buyin i didn't played i saw you had from 1,5k to 12k in 2 mins too (i thought you won it at the end).. of course you had good hands when you were in trouble (but phil ivey won't win 1$ with 27 every hand). really great play..

congrats to ssmooth for playing great agressive game tonight too...

I just want to start in a position other then having Guru act after I did (as he sat directly to my left the entire time I was in the tourament). His standard 3X big blind raise seemed to happen EVERY time I was in the big blind, I got the the point I was playing cards more when I was out of position then when I was in. A few lucky catches got me to the money, so I am happy with my 6th place finsh. Great game Guru!
