Default Poker Schools?

Been seeing a rash , no not that king of rash, of poker school ads. we'll teach you this we'll teach you that. is there really any substitute for experience? i mean they can only teach you the basics. Basically you pay them for the same info you can get here for free. Would be going to a " poker school " really be worth it? Or would you be wasting you money just to see a braclet winner?

I guess if you have nothing better to do with your money - why not. I agree experience is the best teacher.

From what I hear the Poker School run by Sheets and Bax with Rizen and another dude as guest teachers is worth it but expensive. I also know someone who did poker school online which has been around for years and he did say it was worth it. PSO even has an annual convention and seminar in Vegas. They were out at the Orleans hotel this year when I was playing in the Ladies Orleans Poker Classic.

Ive had friends attend various boot camps most of them have said the money was worth it be it Howard and Annies or Phil Hellmuths or the WPT one.

Coaching has proved invaluable to me. I never had any formal coaching, Ive learned from playing against good players taking notes, reading etc. No one was willing to actually sit me down and critque my play or make suggestions probably fearful of what it might do. I now have someone who does that with me and it has helped immensely and made my transition to live play seamless. In fact I have final tabled in 5/8 of my live league tourneys and cashed in three (top 6 pays).
