Hi everyone,

I know there's a lot on our minds in regard to the poker ban, but I just got some news today that's a lot closer to my heart than poker.

Evidently, my father had a heart attack this morning and was airlifted to a hospital, where he underwent emergency triple bypass surgery. During the chopper ride, he flatlined once, and then twice more on the operating table. They brought him back all three times, and he has been in the recovery room for the last five hours or so.

Any good vibes you guys can send are welcome and needed.

This is such shocking news. I'm really sorry to hear that. My dad underwent one bypass surgery and I know it well how bad it was. He still says it's a 2nd birth for him.
Keep faith in doctors and most importantly god. I sense all will be fine soon.

oh lyt, what can i say..this is a verry important sad moment for u...i am really unhapy about this...and i think all of us are here with u in this moments...
now i am thinking about my parents and i just hope that they will be fine...i really hope u're dad will recover...i think this is one of the few posts that i am writing with deep pain in my soul...

My dad is recovering nicely, as far as we can tell. He's already off the ventilator and joking with people, according to my mom. My wife and I plan to drive out to Las Vegas and see him soon; I have a couple of comp days at the New Frontier that I can use for lodging.

Glad to hear that your Dad's awake and coherent. Soon he will be chasing around the nurses and trying to start up a poker game. Looking forward to a trip report, if you get some time to hit the tables.

Hi guys,

I'm back from visiting my parents in Las Vegas. Unfortunately, I did not get a chance to play Hold 'Em while I was there, but I should be able to start catching up on posts.

My dad is doing well; he's recovering from the bypass surgery nicely, and I feel much better about the situation after going out there to see him.
