A freezeout tournament is just a tournament with no re-buy option. It's the same as the "normal" tournaments you referenced. Turbo tournaments are generally also freezeouts, but the blinds raise faster than in a normal tournament.

I've heard that some people refer to a freezeout as a tournament where the winner takes all, but in most cases, the online freezeouts that I've seen are just tournaments with no re-buy.

thanks i know it probably sounded like a dumb question but i didnt understand why they termed it that way when normally they say no rebuys on the tourney info. guess it makes it sound cool.lol cool. anyway thanks for clearing that up.

No problem. I was confused by it for a while, too.

I hate the rebuy tournaments because say if your'e playing in the WSOP, can you rebuy if you lose, no you can't. But those rebuy tournaments can come in handy because they give out more money than the freeze outs.

ya rebuy tournements just suit the the stupid players, or the wealthy. ive seen alot of players whom i think are planning to rebuy atleast four times. seems the go all in untill the double or triple up,only then do they play smart.
