Default PStars $3 Rebuy

OK, I checked out the Stars $3 Rebuy tourny (Guar. 20K) with the intent of Zero Rebuys and Add-ons. This way I only get involved with premium hands. There were 2,643 players, 7871 rebuys ($3 for 1500 in chips) and 1600 Add-ons for ($3 for 2000 chips). The rebuys and addons stop after the first break and the total pool was 36K. The payouts started at No.504 for $25 and the top prize was $5900.

The start of the tournie is worse than a Freeroll with people going All-in with Rags, hoping to get a quick double-up. I won a couple of All-ins and ended up with 9K after the break, which is the average chip count and there are about 1800 players left. The play became much more normal afterwards, but I noticed that the number of players remaining drops steadily even at the bubble. One guy with 20K chips went All-in on a flush draw and drew blanks and got Knocked Out at No. 500.

Anyways I ended up at No.223 for a payoff of $36 after 3 hours of play. Which added nicely to my $6 bankroll (lol). I got knocked out with my AKs when the other guy flopped a straight draw plus a flush draw. He hit a Straight on the Turn, then his Flush on the River (Boom, Boom, I leave the Room). Lastly, the tournament finished after 9 hours of play (gad) !!

Congrats, Iceberg! It sounds like you played well to outlast that many people in such a random game.
