How many of you have been in that situation where your flush hits, and you are curious if they have the one or two cards that can beat you. Last night I had in the cutoff. The blinds were $25-$50 and we started with $5,000.(tourney) One caller then I bet $200. Button called, SB folds, BB folds, other calls(Bob). Flop comes . Bob bets $400, I call, button calls. Next card is blank of clubs. Bob checks, I check, button checks. Next card is another blank of clubs. Bob checks, I bet $1,000 into the $1,875 pot. Button raises to $3,000, Bob folds. Now I'm thinking the only card that can beat me is the and I don't know these players well enough to know if they would consider raising with a lesser club. If I call and am wrong then I am down to $1,400 right from almost the very beginning of the tourney. What do you do? I'll tell you what I did after I get a few opinions.

First of all I'd like to ask: Was it a live game?
Second of all: If it was a live game, how did he behave? How did he act?
Did he raise instantly or did he take his time?
Did he lean back or did he sit straight forward? Did he talk? If he did, what did he say, and in what way did he say it? What did your instinct say? Did you have eyecontact, or did he look away when your eyes met?

If the buy in were low and the game was on the internet I would have called. Because I know that if I can get an early chip lead, the others won't have a chance.
