| Here's an example of playing at an aggressive table and getting all my money in when I think I have the best hand. I was in early position and called, hoping someone would raise, then went All-in to try and isolate him. A second opponent jumped in, but he drew blanks. PokerStars Hold'em No Limit ($0.05/$0.10) - 2007/01/06 Table 'Sonja II' 9-max Seat #9 is the button Seat 2: jammit79 ($10.35 in chips) Seat 3: poche_sk8er ($7.65 in chips) Seat 4: Scheinbild ($1.85 in chips) Seat 5: Iceberg ($2 in chips) Seat 6: timswager ($9.05 in chips) Seat 7: Man1nTheBox ($27 in chips) Seat 8: bigamandus ($7 in chips) Seat 9: Khavotar ($17.30 in chips) Foothill Man was removed from the table for failing to post jammit79: posts small blind $0.05 poche_sk8er: posts big blind $0.10 *** HOLE CARDS *** Dealt to Iceberg [Kc Kd] Scheinbild: folds Iceborg: calls $0.10 timswager: folds Man1nTheBox: calls $0.10 bigamandus: raises $0.10 to $0.20 Khavotar: folds jammit79: folds poche_sk8er: raises $0.30 to $0.50 Foothill Man joins the table at seat #1 Iceberg: raises $1.50 to $2 and is all-in Man1nTheBox: folds bigamandus: calls $1.80 poche_sk8er: calls $1.50 *** FLOP *** [2s 4s 8s] poche_sk8er: checks bigamandus: checks *** TURN *** [2s 4s 8s] [Ad] poche_sk8er: bets $5.65 and is all-in bigamandus: folds *** RIVER *** [2s 4s 8s Ad] [9d] timswager is sitting out *** SHOW DOWN *** poche_sk8er: shows [Td Tc] (a pair of Tens) Iceberg: shows [Kc Kd] (a pair of Kings) Iceberg collected $5.85 from pot I sweated it a bit when the potential flush was flopped and also when the Ace Turned up. BUT it ended well for me. I got 2 to 1 for my KK. |

| I agree with you 100%. I was in early position and figured that someone behind me would make a raise. As it turned out, two people raised. Do NOT use this strategy when playing on a passive table, where a lot of limpers are calling the BB to see the flop. Someone else may hit trips. Secondly, the flop may be coordinated and someone may hit a straight, flush or a drawing hand. Then you're in trouble. |
