Heads up, $50 sit and go - 18 person So the title tells you the situation pretty well.
I was in the chip lead 24k - 12k, I was dealt pocket K's in the small blind and just smooth called. I was raised by my opponent and immediately raised back. He called and we saw a flop:
Kd, Ah, 6s
an absolutely perfect flop I thought, no flush draw, hit my set and if he was raising with an ace heads up, he was in a lot of trouble. I checked and he moved all-in! I loved it and instantly called. At worst, I thought I was against an A or a gut-shot straight draw if he was feeling really bold.
He turns over pocket 7s, and I got out of my chair and loved the situation, thinking the turn and river were just a formality. You all know what is coming if this is in the bad beat section of the forums.
Turn: 7
River: 7
I didn't believe it at first, it was just too much to handle. I had seen almost the exact same scenario on the WPT once I thought. I was just sick to my stomach and as all poker players have done once or more, I vowed to quit for a long time hahaha!
To make things worse, he hit another bad beat on me the next hand to take the first place prize in the sit and go! |
