i'm going to have to agree with the other guy who was against rebuys tournys aswell. I mean, i dont think its fair that someone who has more money can have an advantage while poking poker. That is not including addons which i despise even more. Rebuys during house games i don't mind, mainly because having your friend sit out and watch is kind of rude, but people really do abuse their rights on online poker. for example, when you pay $4 to enter an online schedualed tournament, and for the first half an hour, you can't play a hand unless its for all your chips. Thats why i only find tournaments that have NO rebuys and no addons. Just a few days ago, i played in a tournament through noble poker where the payout was very big.... and rebuys were on. Folded so many times, because i didn't want to risk it so early on some ass going all in with 74 os. So, im just sitting there, dwindling... and eventually i have AQ suited, i raise preflop (a good half of my stack)... and i get 2 callers. Both rebuy hounds, one has 94os the other AJ FLOP : 44A TURN: 6 River: 4 not only did i loose to 94... the fact that he made quads just made the matter 10 times worst. And to add insult to injury, the guy went on in the chat about how he was the "greatest poker player" anyways; moral of the story... Don't play rebuy tournaments! unless you have money to waste

| im starting to feel like a broken record preaching this over and over, but seriously...if you could rewind time and go back to preflop...and look at his hand and see it was 94....and you got to choose if he would call or fold...would you really choose fold? Id make him call in a heatbeat. Sure, once the flop came down id be pissed...but you WANT 94 to call, dont you? I wish 94 would call me preflop EVERY time. its his fault or not taking advantage of the fact he can save his chips and fold...he chooses to make a horrid call...thats great! i dont mean to undermind your bad beat..sorry to hear it its so lame he nailed quads, but seriously....more often or not you will make loads of chip off that hand! I hope I haven't offended anyone in my repition of this same point, but guys...come on, doesnt what im saying make some sence?

personally i prefer freezeout tournament just because i find it to be more fair ... in rebuy tournaments the play is so much different most of the time people will make bad decisions just because they know if they were to lose they could always rebuy for example: once i had and the flop was ...so i had trips...and since there was a flush draw i bet out strong...my opponant called with heart flush draw...next card was a blank..leaving the river to come...i bet strong once again and the other guy pushes all in...(the odds of him hitting the flush with one card to come is very slim) ...of course i call and ...what do you know he hits the flushin a freezeout tournament i dont think that would ever happen...and in the chat he even said "i took the gamble because i knew i could rebuy" .... so yeah i prefer freezeout tournaments...the play seems more real

Tourneys with rebuys cater to the host....... especially, if like now, they take a percentage of the prize pool, instead of an entry fee.. they also cater to those who have money to toss away.... It is the second reason I do not play them.. I do not have money to throw away... I would be too tempted to rebuy, and then perhaps rebuy again... With that said.. rebuys are better than freezeouts(standard), if certain situations occur.. For instance, a tourney with a buy in of $1.00, with multiple rebuys, might as well be 5 or 10 dollar freezeout... the prize pool increases each time a rebuy occurs... You also will many more entrants in the low buy in tourneys.. as much as a low buyin freezeout, perhaps... and when the rebuys start rolling in, your getting potentionally more for your buck, than if you were in a freeze out... One thing I did not see mentioned... usually, you have to have eithre busted out, or be below a certain chip count, by a certain time, before you can rebuy...... this is advantageous to YOU.. YOU don't want to have to rebuy... if you bust of of these afore mentioned people out...BOOM, there is your rebuy.. for free.... since you do not want to have to rebuy, your only playing heads up poker and staying away from ALL IN's unless you have seen the flop. At any given table, at any given time, someone is going to do something to irk someone... the fact that the tourney has a rebuy option, does not change this.... all you have to do, is play smart, and you will most likely end up with 2 or 3 rebuys, for a cost of zero.... Always take advantage of the add on tho..... ![]()

Personally i like freezeouts because, lets say you knockout three people at your table, in a re-buy they all come back and that gets annoying. i also hate that thereis alwaya one person who gets knocked out like twenty times and he re-buys each time thanks

Freeze-Outs... I hate re-buys with a passion. I have seen players lose 10 times and end up actually winning the tournament. It's crazy to let people have unlimited lives in a tournament. It causes reckless play and complete chaos at the tables. I like a controlled game that asks for more thinking and skill rather than chance and chaotic all in situations.
