Heart Poker Tracker Review

Online card rooms are the greatest thing to happen to poker since, well, the invention of the game itself. Finding your game of choice, at any limit you choose, has never been easier than it is today. And when it comes to tournament play, there’s just no better way to practice your game (or make some serious cash) than logging on to your favorite poker site and browsing through its tournament lobby.

Poker tracker sounds great but im a natural guy i dont use those fancy softwares. Not right now anyways. I might try an odds calculator people say its good if you want to learn odds. I know of odds alittle bit and i think you need to now about that if you want to win.

I can understand not wanting to use fancy software, etc., but PokerTracker is one piece of software that will really help you out.

Lots of people use the software to track other players at the table to help adjust strategies on the fly. While this helps (I guess), PokerTracker is really good for improving your own game.

Here's what I do after each session that I play (you can follow my advice or not, up to you).

First thing, I completely disregard whether I won or lost money. In the long run, money isn't important (I play well within my bankroll so I'm never worried about poker affecting any other aspect of my life, for better or worse).

Secondly, I go over the top 5 or 10 best hands (in terms of BB won) for the session. What I try to do is figure out where I went wrong or where I went right. And I'm brutally honest with myself. If I won because I got lucky, I make notes to myself so that I can go back and make sure that I don't make the same careless plays at a later date. If I lose because I got unlucky, I take comfort in the fact that "I'll get him next time.".

And if I lose because I played poorly, I tried to get my friends to tell me I played it right. And when they don't, I make a note and make sure that I don't make the same mistakes again.

PokerTracker is great for making you self-aware of where you go wrong and where you go right. In a game like poker where the outcome of a session is not dependent on how well or poorly you played, PokerTracker becomes an invaluable learning tool that can help you improve your game and reduce the variance in your play.

K.
