It can be a very profitable way to play Aces, but it only works if you know that someone in LP will raise. Otherwise you let too many people in to see the flop and your Aces can easily end up the dog. They are just one pair after all - someone limping with with rags can end up hitting two pair or even a straight.

I like the move overall, but it's risky. Can't complain when your Aces end up cracked.

Yeah, i raise everytime i have AA's no matter what position. I get tempted to do the other strategy coz ive seen it work several times but i just cand stand having the blinds come in my pot w/non-premium hands if no one raises in late position.

AA is the best starting hand but u shouldn't go all in preflop with this hand...after all if the flop has even a pair of 2 and you are raised you should give up and fold..after all AA is a good hand but sometimes it needs improvment so you could be sure you win the pot..so u gotta know how to play it and you have to know when to fold'em...

Cheers ,

Exclamation

i must agree w13rdow, is ok to raise in preflop but not allin couse is a lot of calling station and, for me, poket roket is a kind of "13"! I realy affraid of AA, no matter if i am in late position or not, remains a dagerous poket pairs because the temptation is huge...BUT, in a freeroll is happen` often...

yes patriki...freeroll or not the hand should be played the same way...many people think that freerolls don't count but every begginer starts with freerolls so freerolls are the place where you can learn how to play and sooner or later you will advance to buy-ins...my advice is not to get scared that you will lose money because if you're afraid you will be bluffed many times(personal experience)..and the most important think for the AA is the opponents...if they are tight or loose...

ok w13rdow, i think not freerolls is problems, of course, but is a lot of players, fish like me, but more agressive, esspecialy on the beginning of tournaments, who is very hungry for chips and don`t matter is is in LP or not, if had AA or 72(!!!) and re-raise or even all-in! this is unpleasant because you play calculate and don`t wanna` go that risck, and so appear angry, you move on and play like them, but that kind of game is noy working on final table, were a poket roket can be played truely

heh...fishes.. when you play against fishes you can easily beaten with A A against a 2 7 offsuited...in freerolls at the beggining fishes go all in with everything and some of them get lucky and double or triple their chips with very bad starting cards...that can make any good player go mad !

Default preflop AA

I dont think you should ever slowplay the AA even from first position. I like to come in with a strong raise of around 3x the BB....if you only win the blinds, that sucks...but if you do get a caller, at least you know he has 2 real high cards, so you have an immediate read coming into him on the flop. If the flop comes down low 2, 7, 9...you know your in buisness, make a nice 2/3+ pot sized bet...or if you get a nice lucky 3rd ace, and you see a J Q or K come down...you know you are in real buisness and you can let him do all the raising!

Slowplayin them may pay off on the rare occation, but I think you will get more chips in the longrun with a preflop raise.
