IMO Heads up tournaments do not portray the real image of a class player. So anybody has a chance to win. I would say that one who is catching better cards is more likely to win the tournament. Anyways, here's what i think would happen:

I completely disagree with that comment BBPGURU.

Heads up requires the most skill in Poker because your only going up against one person. Luck factor isnt as hugely influenced as skill is. A person can get the best cards pre-flop 90% of the time in a match, but he can still lose if he doesnt play them right.

Phil Ivey went heads up with Lissandro with a 4 to 1 chip lead, thats a huge advantage. And he ends up losing.
I heard somewhere and this is fact coz it happened at this years circuit event, but a guy had like over 100 to 1 chip lead, over 100 to 1, and he still loses. And i've had numerous times as well where someone had a huge lead on me heads up and i managed to come back and vice versa.

Heads up is all about whos gonna play the better poker, because this is where the advanced strategy of poker has to be utilized.

Sure someone can get lucky on a big hand but its how you handle yourself after that hand.

Perfect example: Chris Jesus Ferguson vs Phil Hellmuth on NBC

Ferguson got lucky a couple of times in their matches, but guess what, Hellmuth played better poker and won, actually he won the whole Heads Up Tournament on NBC.

Heads Up is where you see everything that Poker is all about, including class.
