I started playing about 2 or 3 years ago with my big brothers friend´s, I was at a party at my hometown and one of the was leaving and he asked if I wanted to go play holdem to another guys house, so I went and started playing, but rarely maybe once a week or twice, but then summer came and we got together about 3 nights a week we were like 12 guys the about a year ago I started playing on the net and liked it a lot so Iplayed about 4 days weekly and now I play daily cant help it, itá a great game.
I think I have gotten much better, some of my poker friends now fear me lol I hope I can get better and maybe get into a good tourney to really try my skills.

It all started when I was a little kid playing poker with my grandparents. 5 card draw. From there i just loved to play cards. They got footage of me playing when I was a kid I was so cute. From my grandparents I started playing no limit with my cousin and thats pretty much how I started Poker just runs in my familly. So it was very easy to pick up for me.

I'm 45 now and all my old polish uncles invited me to play 5 card draw more so as a joke because they said i needed to a aditude adjustment, I always thought i was the best so they taught me how to play 5card draw, and just like i knew, I was good and beat them most of the time. boy they cursed in polish good thing I did'nt understand. My mom said her brothers are oldfashion men who think women can't do anything. well next reunion we'll play holdem i hope i can beat these old farts, just to keep them on there toes. l love my uncles dearly but there the one who needs a aditude adj. live, love, laugh and play poker

I started playin' poker by myself tought myself how to play after seein' my bf playin' at home on the internet! I found him up all hours of the night and most of his day's in the computer room, so i went to check out what he was doin' and he say's playin' poker, i sat down for 5mins and said this is stupid! so I go to bed, and wake up later on in the early morin' and he is still playin' so I kicked him off the computer and read the rules they have at UB and hand rankin' and just a brief tutorial of the game. and I sat down with some play chips and I was off. Took me a month to get the hang of it knowin' that my hand wasn't the best all the time! lol so my bf and I would have competion's each day to see who can make the most fake chips! lol I would lose but I was still doin' good. my first tournament I enterd was for 50points and 200 players I finished first place winnin' $15bucks! I was so excited! ever since then all I do is play tournamnets No limit and some ring games.
It's so funny playin' poker for awhile and then all of a sudden we start to hear it on the radio poker this poker that and then the 2003 wsop chris moneymaker and now poker is everywhere it's crazy!!!

Don't we all start playing simple games like WAR or 21...then move into the more complex games like draw poker and the like?

I remember games like Night Baseball which is a good learning game for learning the hands etc. Betting on it is good for starting to understand the odds of making each of your hands from a certain set of 'outs'. Memorization of folded cards is critical in this game.

I figured the memorization part out early on and was able to beat my grandmother and sister out of a lot of Haloween candy this way...lol

About me, I started playing poker with bet365's freerolls. 200$, 1000$ didn't matter, I was playing poker.
But that was only for a few weeks, until I discovered playtech network.
Now I play at playtech most of my time, freerolls, buiyn tournaments, sit&go, headsup...
But I don't usually play ring games..I really can't stand them...so I don't get often bonuses.

I started playing poker when I was about 10 years old. I remember my cousins used to get in the game just because then needed more people and one of our great uncles would always come up behind me and give me more money because my cousins would steal me blind. Lucky it was only penny poker lol....

But now I started playing online about 4 months ago or so because I am now disabled and needed a way to make a little extra money each month just to survive...and well, I have my computer, can't work outside my home....and it's working

I started playing cards whit my boyfriend and his friends. we played regular poker and national games from their countries. I am a really bad looser and they doesent likee to play whit me anymore. lol. then we got internet and my boyfriend likes to play to and so did I Iam at home whith my kid so a lot of time I sit and play when he is sleeping and stuff. also the people I play whit online cant see or heare me when I am screaming and curse at them and my self which isnt a very nice thing to see. I doesent have a "pokerfaice" whats so ever so online poker is the thing for me. I would probebly be banned from the pokertable at a live tournament aor table. I spare my self from the inbaresment,

pretty much my whole life i have played poker. But about 3 years ago i was first introduced to Texas Holdem and it grew on me in no time. I began to be a huge holdem player and later on i started playing omaha. I learned about holdem when i watched Rounders.

This is going to sound weird, but I started playing about 10 years ago. This doesn't sound all too weird, but you must realize that I'm 18. Also, my grandmother tought me how to play. I was 8 and my parents were going out so my grandmother came over. My grandmother goes to Atlantic City at least once a month, so she knows her way around the gambling world. She tough me such wonderful games as Acey-ducey, blackjack, and now my favorite, poker.

This is a very odd way to play poker, but it started me up early and I have an advantage over those my age who have been just playing since the new poker revolution has started. I have actually lost a bunch of friends who played poker because it got too popular, but I love the game too much.

I kind of wish the game hadn't become so popular, but then again, that is why there are so many sites.
