great post, i knew how to play 5 card draw before i knew holdem although i always confused the ranking between two pair and trips i thought two pair was harder to make ![]() also, i never understood what a full house was, i thought full house was holding 5 face cards .i only learnt no limit in february this year, i played tons since then so that's how i improved more than not. i'm in uni so my friends taught me, we have weekly poker sessions which i never won, came second is the closest. but now i think i can win cuz i improved so much over the holidays right now. there's a second group of friends whom i play with weekly as well, and i always pace first or second in that group ![]() me and this one guy next door to me is obsessed with poker, i think we play atleast 4 heads-up games a day, playing for 5 pounds maybe not much money but yeah, ![]()

| who doesnt start with good ol 5 card draw? as far as i knew that was POKER, i didnt know about anything else till my friend taught me 7 card stud in middleschool. He was vietnamese and his familiy had a tradition of huge poker games during get togethers..he taught us their house rules and it went from there. we were under 13 but had weekly house games ![]() it was lots of fun, we also ended up getting into blackjack, dice games, and all sorts of action, but 7 card stud was our most legitimate game. i admit not really getting into holdem untill a few years ago when it became somewhat of a fad/craze. its hard to play other stuff now, holdem has a way of taking you over as the one and only gamble. probably a goodthing though as it keeps me away from that darn roulette wheel!!! that thing will kill ya!!!

I think everybody started playing 5 card draw before the last 5 years. Now all the kids play holdem. Espn should get all the credit. I had never even heard of holdem till I saw it on t. v. I can't wait to watch WSOP every Tueday night. I can't wait to watch WPT every Wed. night. I think it has made me a better player. Anyway back to where I started, I bowl in a mens league and after every bowling night we go into the pro shop and play 2/4 for a couple hours. Its amazing how much money I make. Most of these guys have alot of money and they are true river rats. you lose some hands but win alot more. these guys come in and lose $200 almost every single week. Granted they do win some weeks even though its very rare, but thats what keeps them coming back for more.

I started off playing poker 5 Card Draw probably when I was nine or ten years old. Got tired of it and focused more on Blackjack. Then I caught the World Series of Poker in 2003 and was intrigued by these "new" versions of poker that I had never seen before especially Texas Hold'em and have been hooked ever since. I am hooked in watching Texas Hold'em events on TV with the World Poker Tour in particular. I just recently turned 21 and have been playing the cash games at casions and online along with online tournaments. Needless to say, I think I am an addict already at this tender age. ![]()

needless to say, i think the transition from other things to nolimit holdem occured majorlywhen Chris moneymaker won the 2003 WSOP. , as it an be seen fromthe wooopin increase in the field the year after (2500 !) now it's only getting bigger soon it's gonna reach 10000 i think ![]()

I've been playing some form of poker on and off for several years... Last summer I watched CPS for the first time and started playing Holdem online at Pacific.. shortly after.. I went to a local billiards hall that sponsored tourneys.. and now I mainly play online...
