I have anger problems so when get a bad beat i really have hard time preventing myself from going on tilt.
people just say that if u face a bad beat and ur about to go on tilt, just leave the game and calm urself down.
problem is if i leave the game i can't calm myself down, i just get more angry i can't get my money back

so what's ur key to avoiding going on tilt? u guys use like those Stress-breasts n stuff ?

or just play till u win it back. or any other...

You know what I usually do? I will leave my seat go to the fridge drink a beer then return to game with a cooler head.

beer is my worst enemy. chances are ur gonna pay great. wake up the next morning and it was all an illusion , u were actually losing
well i guess one beer can't hurt but one leads to two leads to three leads to quite a bit more!

No I dont ever drink to much when I am playing, at least anymore.
I learned my lesson on that one the hard way.
I dont need to explain the obvious.

The only time I drink alot and play is when all the guys are
sitting around having fun and playing low low limits.

On the internet, when i catch a bad beat, i curse curse curse til i cant curse no more, lol.

After im done cursing, i usually just log off that poker site, and browse through other sites or watch TV or go somewhere just to cool down.
I've learned never to play while im upset because it really does mess up my concentration.

In a live game, when i catch a bad beat, im more classy about it.
Tell the guy nice hand and move on to the next one.
When i get home, i curse curse curse til i cant curse no more, lol, jk.

But, yeah, thats how i handle it.

ehh guys i need this threaad to fill up, i'm playing poker online right now and i haven't seen a face card with a decent kicker for 40 mins!

everytime a J, Q,or K, or A comes out the kicker is 3,4,5

Just wait it out man, only thing you can do, unless you wanna play a lil bit more loose and see if that can collect you some chips.

I usually play tight in cash games and try to stick to premium hands only, but if your not getting any of those and your bored and starting to become impatient, turn on the tv or something and watch something while your playing to cool you down or relax you.

yeah that's what i'm doing right now
i hit 5 quads to make up for it.
but my chp stack was down so low that i didn't win much from it which is crap !

trust me there is nothing you can do. either you stop playing for a moment or you can do what I do smack the mouse in to the wall. and than you go after the suckers that took your money.

Yeah, I think my keyboard has taken a huge load of damage because of all my bad beats, but it's very frustrating and hard to think about it beacuse you just lost all that money when you definetely had the best hand going to the river and that money is gone. Sure, you can try to cool off and then go get a beer and whatever, but what about when you are playing in tournaments? If you're in an online tournament and you get hit with a bad beat, if you try to cool off, your losing blinds and folding potential winning hands. I wonder how many pocket aces and kings I've folded beacuse I was trying to "cool off", I remember one time when I sat in and came back I was in the big blind and the hand already started and I had rockets, someone raised and it was about to fold me but luckily I made it in time!! I flopped a set and took that guy down
