No you have a mid pocket pair with a raise from first postion and 3 callers behind him. The chances of you starting with the best hand is probably a coin flip or you are dominated. The only way you probably could win the hand is if you hit your thrid 8 on the flop. So I do not think it is worth calling

I think that if anyone that stars to bet raises that much they usually has a nice hand.( often a pair) and dont want that many into the pot but still get some money. you have a medium hand and if you get the flush its not that high anyway. and its so erly in the game and I wouldent risk it that soon. If it was further into the game and I had some money I would probebly call.

I would agree with BBP Guru, there is no way you can re-raise this hand knowing that the initial raiser probably has a good hand, he will probably push all-in and then you can't make that call. You can also put the others on low pockets maybe or like 8's or 7's, but yeah, i would make the call to see the flop knowing that I can't be re-raised and it will only cost me 2/15 of my chip stack.

I would also make that call, I think because I look at it this way I hav a st flush draw, a st draw, and a flush draw so i have 3 different ways to win not to speaking that for some reason or another nines like me well at least 15% of the time. but i guess what it boiles down to is you and how your hands and your luck goes. I still believe that everyone has ther own luck and ther own style of playing it just needs to be found within. and you know when ur lucky ur lucky and when ur unlucky no matter what u hav you'll lose. but that only last for so long. And always if you see the oppurtuity to take the chips by all means take'em lol. LOVE, LIVE, LAUGH AND PLAY POKER

Fold or Raise, definately. When I am dealt pretty cards like that, no matter how low, as long as they are suited connectors... I'm raising your ass all day!
I do this to caution you of face cards on the flop, or pockets if low cards come out. IF you make a raise of 200 more, you will enduce them to call of course, and they will assume you're holding face cards or pockets, when you're actually sitting on the last 2 cards they would imagine. And 3 callers is awesome if you have medium connectors, that's 4 people x2 face cards each most likely... -8 face cards off the back, probably hit a pair or draw on flop. It usually turns out nicely for the low suited limp-in guy than it does the group of AJ AK JK.... You don't have to worry about a kicker!

fold 50% of the cards that are coming out of the deck are higher than yours. I am also assuming it is the start of or very early in the tournament and the blinds are very low something like 25/50. That would make it 150 to call for a 800 pot. sure you are getting 5 to 1 to make the call for the flop but 50% of the cards that can come out are going to be overs to you. Lets say however you do make the call (MY FORMAL ANSWER IS FOLD) and the flop comes down Ac 10c 9h giving you a flush draw that is super weak and a back door straight that needs runner runner to win. You are now first to act and you can not make abet because your draw was shit and if you do bet you have 5 others that could easily have hit hands against you. lets say UTG bets another 200 and you get 3 folds leaving you and the raiser and another player and you all see the turn because you decided to call 1500 in the pot and you have 1100 left turn comes 7d making the board look like this.

Ac 10c 9h 7d

giving you the 17 outer for a flush and open-ended straight not to mention you have a pair so that is 2 more outs for a 9 and 3 for the 8 to make your hand improve that's 22 outs and a 44% chance to IMPROVE BUT STILL NOT WIN.

Lets say the Jc comes out and makes your flush and your straight.

board looks like this
Ac 10c 9h 7d Jc pot is 1500

You have made your straight but it is not the nuts straight KQ is nut straight and J8 chops you but the flush is extrenly likely with the smooth calls from the other player in the hand on flop and turn not to mention KQc for the Royal. There is no bet you can call on this round and you could have saved the chips for a quaility hand.

Default 8 9 offsuit

No way, first it is not a good starting hand, with a full table. Second you have players behind you, and you surely can't stand a raise.
