I started using a poker odds calculator but I sincerely didnt like it, because its all what the odds tell you sometimes you gotta risk the hand and maybe something good come and you beat the opponent. I used it for about a week and finished erasing it from the comp. I would say that everyone has his way of playing and bluffing and playing good hands ans the calculator just messes up your playing style. mildseven Regnum Christi ![]()

From what I've seen, there are quite a few good players who swear by Poker Tracker, which is not a program that tells you what or how to play, but rather a tool for analyzing your hands and the results you've achieved with them. Over the long term, it tells you things you probably don't know solely by intuition - for example, whether you're actually making a net gain or loss from playing suited connectors, and how much gain or loss. Or if you're one of those players who thinks your AA and KK "always" get cracked, it'll keep track so you'll actually know.

i once downloaded a calculator of some sort i didnt understand it one bit and i dont think it supported the poker networks i play on so i just erased it immediately i think it can come in handy but i think its better to make the judgment with the bet/raise individually calculated in your brains with the factors : your stack opponents stack your place to the dealer what you got(DUH) how the table was during last 10 hands(the mood) cause the one thing you cant ever calculate is luck and luck is a BIG part of the game bigger then some "pro" players may think HUNTER

I think it can be helpful but only in this way. Use it to learn from your mistakes. Before you check out the calculetem you should say to yourself what your going to do. After you do that check the texas calculteme out and see if your decision was right. If you were wrong it could save you from a major mistake. Just lose it to learn from and when you finally start making all the right choices from it than just get rid of it. It is not like it is going to help you in the casinos anyway.

I don't use one, and never will. If you think about the game, in most big hands, were you lose, you get put out by somebody that does not play from a chart or program. And though it may seem strange, to me that is the beauty of game. You can play your best game, and follow charts and programs and still lose, and conversly play like a goose and win the world series of poker.
