i dont know any quotes but this is a chinese proverb that is realy deep.

if you must play, decide upon three things at the start: the rules of the game your playing, the stakes of the game, and lastly you have to know when it is the time to quit.

Let's see, I have a few I really like...

There's the one from my signature, of course.

Then a friend of mine wrote once "Excalibur, which is what a poker room would look like if poker playing 5th graders wrote a paper about the middle ages..." - that falls under the "funny because it's true" category and always makes me smile.

Non-poker I've always liked Voltaire's "I may disapprove of what you say but will defend to the death your right to say it".

I think thats great. I dont know were I have heard it but I know that you all have heard of it. I think its quite usefull when you are playing poker or just in other situations.
