For SnG's, I started off playing $5 tourneys. I quickly got tired of paying the high juice and switched to $10 SnG's instead. I don't play them nearly as often anymore, but when I do I usually sit in the $20's or $30's.

In live cash games, I play at the 1-2 NL tables. There's usually enough soft money out there to make waiting for a hand worthwhile, plus you can usually get the odds to see flops with suited connectors and small pairs and get paid off pretty big if you hit a nice hand when someone else has a big pair or big ace. I've played some 2-5 NL before, too, but I've never been as comfortable there as I am at the 1-2 NL. Maybe if I had a casino nearby things would be different, but unfortunately I don't.

If I'm online playing NL cash games, it's usually at whatever the $100 max tables are - some places that's 1-2 blinds, others it's .50-1 blinds. But, I don't play a lot of NL cash online because I haven't had the same kind of success there as I have live.

Oh, and to Frozen - welcome to the forum! Maybe you could go the tournament discussion area and tell everyone about your WSOP main event experience. That's every poker player's dream - I know I'd like to hear about it.

Sit and gos don't really help my bankroll, I'm slightly down to even from them. If I do feel like doing one, it's for $50 or $75.

(NL) Ring games are where I live. Days when I feel my brain can't handle keeping track of multiple tables, I sit 10/20 with the maximum buyin. Normally I like to sit at three 5/10 tables with a medium buyin.

Tournaments are where I'll put a lot of money in. I'm a regular in the daily $50 and $150 tournaments, making a good profit from them. I like the high buyin because although I've never won, I've finished top 3 in the $150 twice. That pretty much covers all tournament fees for a while.

I began to play NL real money Hold'em 5 months ago. I usually play SitnGo - s from 1$ - 5$, but I tried myself in upper buy-in. Yea, but I had to realize that's not my level. Not yet.
In ring games I'm a very bad tilt player, so I don't force that, I won just small pots, and got crazy when someone beat me on the river...
My tournament story's not too long. I used to play lots of freeroll, and I built up my bankroll from this. After that I tried some 1-2-5$ buy-in tourney, and I've finished 2. in a 2$ at once. That was a really big money for me then and I think it would be now too.
In the future I will move up the limit in SitnGo and Tournament games, and I will try myself in microlimit ring games again...

Hey guys, I'm a new forum member.

Its interesting reading the different levels people play and how they manage their bankroll.

Personally i play $0.25/$0.50 cash games if thats what im feeling or 20$ sit n gos.

I have recently started playing MTTs with buyins ranging from $5-$30 with varying success.

I won a 15,000 guaranteed tourney which really helped my bankroll although i made sure that i didnt go crazy and try and jump up to higher levels which i am not ready for. Since then i have pretty much continued doing what i was doing before but playing a few more MTTs in the hope i can repeat the success

I am also thinking about playin satellites for the $100,000 guaranteed tourneys that many sites offer as i can not afford the direct buy ins. Maybe someone could share their experiences of playing a lot of satellites and whether they tend to be profitable or not.

I play a lot of the token SnGs on Full Tilt. The two-table ones ($6) are super-soft. Top 4 get a $26 token, 5th gets cash. Then you can use the token to buy in to one of the nightly guarantee tournies - they have a 16K every night. You can also use the token to play another SnG to win a $75 token, and so on. Some of the really big tournies have the $75 buyin, and the pros usually play in those as well. So it's a really easy way to get a shot at some big money.

Oh yeah, those are pretty juicy. I tried to start at the $4 and go all the way. I got the $75 token and played in a $75 sag and came in 4th. It was basically a waste of a day, only because I played weird/poorly when it really mattered.
