I play my best late at night. No interuptions, no noise, no kids, and no wife.
10 pm on up is best for me. I like a big coke to sip on, and around midnite a lite snack. If that afternoon I can get in some exercise, I find that relaxes me.

I will add that I have played in as many as three tournaments at a time, but I have given that up, now only one at a time.

I agree. I play better late at night too. I find that when I'm playing during the day, I have music playing, and i have people talking to me.

But at night, I can't play music because people are sleeping (and therefore aren't talking to me either) so I can focus on the poker.

I have had very little success in afternoon games. (Although I don't play them as often, so maybe it's not a fair comparison)

It's not a matter of the time of day for me. I play my best when I focus on one tournament, which means no multi-tabling, no e-mailing or surfing the web in another window, and no other concurrent tasks requiring part of my concentration; i.e. not doing the kinds of things I usually do when I'm sitting out hands. But it's not just that; on the 75% or more of the hands I'm not playing, I also have to pay attention to the other players' betting habits.

I dont really have a "Best Time" it is more of a how long I can play. If I can onlysit for about an hour or two it always ends bad. If I can get in 4-6 hours or more I finish a winner most of the time. It is important to be comfy when playing... no baby crying no wife nagging no phone ringing no dog barking no anything else that fits in here.

I can't think of a "best time", but a lot of bad ones:
- When football is on because, come on, you gotta watch
- When it's crappy outside but all I want to do is get out of the house
- When I'm feeling down...I came back from a funeral in upstate PA and tried to play, because it was around 10pm, but I just couldnt. I lost a lot
- When I'm sick
- When I'm going to AC for the night

So I pretty much look to not be in any of these categories and I go on and play

it seems odd to me that i can barely scrape by the first 2 weeks of a month then when the 3rd week rolls around i start hitting, i dunno what it is but it's been like that for 2 yrs now so after the 14th look out !! lol

I play my best poker when I am alert and motivated -- usually my first game or tournament in a session, with few distractions. Sometimes I get into the zone later at night, but sometimes I just get tired and distracted. Definitely play my best when I focus on 1 game.

if i'm playing two different sites it's easy to be distracted & make a wrong move but one site is always best to play, i do much better also

Distraction is the key. I deffinately play my best poker when I'm not being distracted or nothing else is going on. If I can get up early in a game I usually play my best because I'm able to get in a zone and concentrate fully on the game. This usually happens around midnight though when I have to go to sleep for work tomorrow. Just glad for the weekends when I can relax and win some cash.
