Although I have finished in the money in several tourneys that had as many as 900 players, I have never won one. I have won the 6K on Pacific, and I find that is the size and reward that works best for me. Most times it is around 200 players, and the winner takes down $1800. I have made the final table 4 times in this tourney, and been in the money many more than that. I have never been in the money in a tourney with more than a 1000 players, and I find most freerolls way to loose.

I finished around 120th out of 10,000 at a Royal Vegas Poker freeroll, but other than that, I haven't had that much success playing with a ton of players either. I prefer playing with around 300-400 people. I have yet to win one, but I have finished 2nd before and made many final tables. This number of players seems to suit me well

I like normal tournys to pay out to the final 3 tables. On Full Tilt this usually equates to 250-375 players. It gets down to these final three tables pretty quickly and then you can start to chase some draws. These have worked best for me. I do enjoy playing large tournys, with over 1000 players, but success has yet to reach me. The buyin gets pricier, but there are enough satellites and other means of getting into the tourny that a good number of weak players find themselves in a $200 tourny for $4.40. (130 people do a 4.40 satellite and the top 4/5 will get into the tourny) It's just a lottery once there are that many people in it. You have to chase some stuff, get REALLY lucky with an ace high against pocket pairs, etc.

If you play heads up against someone, you have a 50/50 chance to beat him if you're of equal skill, but maybe it's 60/40, 70/30, who knows? If you play a single-table tourney, you have to beat 10 people. What are those odds? Maybe a little better than 10% if you're good? 15%? 20%? Certainly not much more than that. As you add tables, I think your odds (of making the money, not of winning) are capped around there. However, the number of "coin flips" required to get there, to build your stack from 1,000 chips to 10,000 or whatever you need for the final table, gets larger and larger. For me, 50-100 has worked best in terms of making the money, but I have a looooong way to go. And yeah, the freerolls are way too loose.

freerolls are way to loose they are free and this makes it easy for any1 of any skill level to join i bc the have a chance at small reward for no risk....bigger tourneys are a little harder bc there are more ppl and the more ppl there are even playin perfect cards you need luck to make therse final tables and money so you will be in more situations where your gonna need sum luck and if u dont get ne luck then u cant help it really
