Ok i admit that i SUCK live, partially cuz i have a bad poker face (that's what they all say) but i really DO have a bad poker face cuz i smile like 24/7. so i can't hide happiness.

now what that means is that i can't stay quiet not giving out tells.
also means i'm crap at bluffing.
thanks to the internet, all of you guys will have no chance of playing me live
(maybe in a few years time, in the WSOP Final Table Heads-up... but chances are i'll be there, but you guys won't make it that far ")

anyways,,, back to the topic. do you guys feel that there is this determining factor in your skill between live and online?

I am much better live than online. The only reason i make more money online is because I play more. Live I might get in 100 hands in a night while online I can get in 1000 in a night. If I had to chose one or the other I would go with online just because of the poor play and more games with more hands.

I can't believe I never saw this thread before. I make more money per hour playing live, I enjoy it more, and I think it takes more skill. But yeah, I can get a lot more hands in online, so it works too.

lol...well put green. I am the same way. Live is so much better because you can visibly see the people you are playing. Unless they look like a cows backside I am decent at picking up their playing stiles and therefor bluffs. I guess everybody thinks there pretty good though at reading people. I also can see my money so much quicker when I win live. I win online and the pissing money is at least 10 days away.

I would say I am better online... but I'm pretty decent live. I'll win out of my 8 friends about half the time.

I don't like online as much as live also because it's hard to think about the money. I head Phil Ivey say something like, "You don't even realize you just dropped $20k," and I know it's bad but I can't control that. I don't realize that I'm sitting with a lot more money than I sit with live.

I haven't really played enough live games to really know the answer to this question - but from what I have played, I seem to be a better online player. I have limited success in the few live games I have played in, whereas I have had moderate success playing online.

But like I said, I play online WAY more often

I find it easier to place nice and tight live because it's more interesting to watch hands play out there, are more distractions, etc. When playing online your table is just some graphics and the occasional chat so you're drawn into the action, but live I tend to behave more optimally.
