If i had AA and was in the buble area i've just would of gone all-in.
I wouldn't of waiting the flop for others to see.

I agree, A-A I'd try and go all in if I were short stacked, but if I needed to I'd fold a good hand on the bubble to be sure I'd get a cash. Even though I could possibly double up and become a force to win.

It all depends on the situation you are in.

I busted out today on the Bubble. It was a $50 Freeroll and we're down to 12 players (two 6 person tables). The top ten are in the money. I have about 9000 and am the low stack at our table. I get dealt JJ on the BB, which is 1000. MP has about 13K calls the BB and ev1 folds around to me and I think ... OK go for the 1 on 1 with an All-in. He thinks and calls with a K8o. Then PMO he catches a K and I'm gone.

I see the table re-configure and there is the Final table. I checked and sure enough I got busted out 11th. What a time to get my arse Whooped.

Sensei, I saw that you had a decent stack until about 30 players left. I guess you caught some bad action as well. I was hoping to meet up with you at the Final Table. Next time...

Id go for it whenever im on the bubble i find it works out best if just just play normally because big stacks will play stupidly agaisnt short stacks because they want to take them out so badly and it is a very good time to double up and try to move up in the tourney.

Uuuugh. I had a similar result again, right on the BUB. There were 11 people left with 5 on my table. Two of us had about 30K stacks and the blinds were high with a BB at 6K. I get 9-9 UTG and decide that this is a decent hand and push. Everyone folds to the BB who has me barely covered. He waits and barely makes the call in time with KQ. He caught his K on the River and I was PIPING HOT.

What do you guys think? I might have gone down to 21K after the blinds if I don't catch anything else. I almost made him fold on the BUBBLE. The other table had players with the lowest stack being 40K.

if you thought or had a knack that you were behind, even if you were fishing for the nut flush it's a good lay down because in the end, you are holding an ace high if you don't hit. and lord knows you will never hit that royal flush draw when you are on the bubble =)

i have folded certain premium starting hands like kq-kj and even 88 in order to hold off those 4-6 hands to make it into the prize pool. for the most part i feel you have to analize the situation and determine how the player has played over the long run at your table. If a player is constantly playing/raising junk you may want to call for the main reason that you know he likes to bluff alot, and if you can catch him in one you may get paid off. Everyone wants to make it into the money but wouldnt it be more satisfying to make the final table. If you were to place just in the money, the payout is ofter quite small like 1.5 percent or something so in an 100 prizepool your making 1.50. the reason that i am saying this is because i used to get defensive on the bubble, but your stack will dwindle and you will be stuck with making your minimal 1.50. If there is a player at your table that is a quality player and u know that there is heavy risk dont put much in on even relatively decent starting hands like the above mentioned. recently i have won 2 of the last 3 poker tounys i have played in on the weekend the last being our own BBP freeroll yesterday night. The point im trying to make is if i had gone back to my old conservative style in/around the money i would have never won this tounament. by playing conservative on the bubble you will make more small wins ex-1.50 but you wont have the real good chance to go all the way and win that 32.00 as i did yesterday.Overall it was a fun tourny and i thank BBP for the great setup of the touny and our forum with our loyal members.
