Actors as Poker Players Jennifer Tilly recently won her second major tournament - the WPT Ladies Night at the Bike. This gets her into the $25,000 buyin WPT Championship at the Bellagio, and makes her WSOP win look like less of a fluke.
There are a lot of actors that play poker as well, and buyin to the WSOP and WPT events - James Woods, Matt Damon, Toby McGuire, Ben Affleck, etc. Tilly is the first one to actually take home a WSOP bracelet though.
What affect do you think this has on poker? Does it bring more people into the game, thinking that if an actor can win, so can anyone? Does it make poker look "bad" - takes away some of the seriousness of the game and the big tournaments, if an actor can come in and beat a bunch of pros? Would you rather see a true unknown - Like Moneymaker, Raymer, or Hatchem come in and win the WSOP, or would you be OK with someone like Ben Affleck taking home the bracelet?
