Wicked Chops Poker is reporting that Phil Hellmuth has been selected to replace Phil Gordon.

http://wickedchopspoker.blogs.com/my...ng_news_h.html

The show will also film in New Orleans, to boost the local economy.

This should make the show fairly interesting...Hellmuth doesn't have the sense of humor and easy-goingness that Gordon did. I think most people will watch now just to see him blow up when some celebrity makes a donk move.

Phil Hellmuth????? Why??????

I'm sorry, but regardless of how good of a player Phil Hellmuth may be, I just can't stand him. He drives me insane.

I understand that he is a competitive guy, and that he hates to lose. I am the exact same way - but I think he takes it a little too far. I do my best to keep myself restrained, and usually succeed in that.

I really liked what Phil Gordon brought to the CPS, he was knowledgable, but also laid back. I think Hellmuth may try to hard to be funny, and he will take the game too seriously.

Just my opinion though......he could prove me wrong

Thats good that New Orleans can host this event to help them out and all, but I like UofTNick am pissed about Hellmuth getting the nod. I only watched it like 3 or 4 times anyways, but it's nice to see every once and a while to make fun of the horrible celebrity players. Now though I don't even think I will watch it at all and if I do it will be to make fun of Hellmuth's sorry ***. If you havn't noticed I dislike him...not for his reactions, but his self indulgence.

Hellmuth will be more entertaining, and get a ton more people to watch b/c he is considered the "controversial" poker player who isnt afraid to open his mouth and let his opinions be heard.. Thats all the show cares about.

I like Hellmuth as a player, but hate him as a person he truely is the biggest douchebag poker pro there is. I'll watch the show though to hear what his take is on the way they are playing can always learn a thing or two from someone with 9 bracelets.

I like that Phil Helmuth is going to be the new host. I think that with Phils personality he will call players out for doing stupid things (which happens alot on the show). So that will lead to the celeberties to want to make better plays and not to be called a fool, which will lead to alot better play on the show. Also I think that Helmuth will be more entertaning to watch then Gordon.

I was watching some $15/30 LHE and Phil Gordon said that CPS is a stupid show and that he's now got more time to raise money for his charity. He won $3k at the table and before he stood up he said all his profits were going to be donated to it, so good for him.
