$2k freeroll in a couple months?
or $200 weekly freerolls?

it's a debatable topic, whethe which one would be more ideal for the members.

in one hand i guess everyone wants a shot at the one big win... i would definitely like that
but considering that i am such a good poker player (which i really aren't), having several smaller freerolls could be more beneficial in the long run.

One reason i could think of where the weekly freerolls are better is that some members may not be able to make it. Like it happened to some members last year, they were busy so they couldn't make it.
which means they have to wait another 2 months!

by keeping it weekly, we would also be abl to keep the members always around in the forums.
(where as fewer large events would attract people and they go away until the next one)
i reckon by keeping it weekly, and producing a "qualifiers" list weekly, we'd be able to get our forums more active.
(eg, this weeks posts will be used to produce a "qualifier" list that you'll announce on sunday. but the freeroll for these qualifiers will be played the week after.
(hence you'll be announcing a list on sunday, but that sunday we play the freeroll of last weeks qualifiers.)

I also voted for the weekly tourney. I think, like nxtyear said, that this will keep members coming and contributing to the forum more often, as opposed to the people that see the tourney in the lobby of a poker site, and then join and have a huge influx of posts, but after the tourney we never see them again. It is also provides better odds for everyone cashing every once in a while which is good for both the forum and the individual.

...That's not to say that i'm complaining about a $2000 freeroll though

thanks for your feedback..i've been thinking along the same lines..hence the poll..We'll have second thoughts on how we want to continue with our freerolls....i.e. we might switch to weekly freerolls..i'll keep you posted..

Hi guys,
Here's the deal...we'll start with bi-weekly freerolls..hopefully at different poker rooms....so everyone has a chance to explore different poker rooms and build a bankroll without actually depositing...
exact time, date, and location will be out very soon.....

any chance that if you do have thoose bi/weekly tournys you could put the on a saturday at 3pm est or later,the trouble is i live in the uk and anything up to 8pm est is ok ,cheers

My 2 cents on the subject -

A large freeroll is likely to get many people involved, however with it being 2/3 months away its difficult for people to think that far ahead (I know myself as a poker player and it has to be now now now lol)

A regular 200 bucks tournament is likely to generate forum discussion and friendly competition for all - as well as getting regular attendees (I know myself I tend to have a number of freerolls I like to play in each week - betfred, bet 365 weekly 5k, etc)


Just my thoughts, and hopefully the first of many lol

the $200 tourney weekly would be best for the forum, quit simply because it will give members the oppotunity to change their form, stratagies, and perhaps their overall game, and also win some money as they are doing it ^.^

i prefere weekly tournament because you can play more often and get your poker strategy improve; it's more easy to find the time too...
