limit holdem personally unless your playing in WSOP or serious games is a joke. Everyone plays everything calls with anything. Basically it is complete luck unless your playing high stakes. Play NL or PL holdem if you really want to play some poker.

I don't want to put down anyone's choice of game, but yeah I've found at least at the stakes that I play that in Limit people tend to over-call, which might be good in the long-run but in the short-run makes it difficult to play very interesting poker. At least in NL you can make calling stations sweat a little with calculated bets of any size. PL, I haven't played as much of. What's the advantage of that over NL?

I personally think that limit games are easy money. All you have to do is play tighter that you nomally would in a NL or PL game. Also you cant bluff as much. Ive been very succeful playing in the low limit games by just playing tighter and not getting mad when people draw you out because it does happen. But I will just keep playing tight and I will win a lot of money overall.

I agree in that Limit provides steady profit. You just play Tight, multiple tables and wait for good cards. This will also earn points towards your Bonus. No Limit has many more up and down swings, which is great when you're winning, but misreads or Bad Beats can put you on Tilt.

ya i agree that low limit games are mostly about luck, but i dont think a .50/$1 limit is bad. There are the occasional people that throw money around the table, but most people seem to be playing a very serious game. But i do however pre-fer NL. But NL can be extremely dangerous, ecpecially in high stakes. Say you have pocket Kings someone can decide to go all in pre-flop with aces, and there isnt much you can do. But the game has plenty of luck and skill so i guess if you are a very good player than you can win most of the time.

Why does everyone bash on limit? Mid/High stakes limit takes just as much skill as no limit. If you've got KK and you're up against AA, you're still going to lose a good amount of money unless you draw out. This core of limit players that I've been playing against on Tilt have really made me work for my money. It's not $100/200, but $3/6 is too pricy for most of the scrub players on the site.

| I guess everyone has their own opinions on limit games. Like I said earlier I'm not a big fan, but I would like to add that limit games are good at times. I play limit every now and then if I have been on a run of bad luck. It's a great way to prevent tilt becuase you can only bet so much. I sat down the other day with $100 at a limit table and before I knew it was $40 up. I guess I'm starting to like limit. MY exp...If you have a nuts draw like straight or flush call more often than not. If you are to hit the draw you can pick up a lot of money on the hands. This comes by reasoning with the fact that people call almost all bets in limit. Also, even though it's limit do NOT play above your bankroll. I see way to many people sitting down at a $1/$2 table with something like 34.65. That amount leads me to believe that the person has sat down with all their money and why go to tables this high with that much money.

If you ever go into a casino and play limit, you'll see this. If some guys get up huge at the limit table with action on it and you still feel like playing limit, you're going to be quite the small stack. I have no problem with it online either. In limit games it's ok to sit with a more substantial part of your bankroll because you can pick your spots more efficiently and it's harder to be bullied. If they're got $30 something at $1/2, that's really not that bad. For a tight player this is definitely ok because it's a good enough amount to wait for a hand and play it through strong.

I think that low limits say 2/4 is a waste. The people who play will play any hand and this causes good players to have to either wait for golden opportunites to win a $30 pot or simply fall asleep. The giher limits are way better. In lower limits people will raise it up with drawing hands simply to get pot odds. How fun! I feel no limit is better so that you can bluff and getter a better feeling of the other players. Limit is better for beginers in my opinion.
