Default Runner Runner Royal Flush

Wow! I am playing at Absolute Poker right now in a freeroll, and I had lost a big pot early, so I was down to about 1/3rd of my original stack when I saw AJ of diamonds. I tripled the big blind and got 2 callers. I am pretty much pot committed now. The flop comes 3c 7s 10d . The two check to me, and i check to see a free card - Qd - First to act bets about 1/2 my stack, and the other guy folds. Not sure why, but I only call. River - Kd -

Bingo! Runner Runner Royal Flush. The guy puts me all in and I obviously call, doubling myself up. I have since won another decent sized pot, and am in good position now.

That's only the 2nd royal flush I've ever had. Just thought I'd share

UofTNick

ps - Wasn't exactly sure where to put this thread, hope this is ok

Great hand. I bet it's pretty awesome when you have the nutz...even better when it's the nutz of all poker hands. I'm still looking for my first royal flush. My currently best hand is a straight flush K high which I've done like 4 times. I just can't get the royal but I will take the straight.

Unfortunately that story does not have as happy of an ending

I ended up finishing 55th out of 740. Only the top 18 cashed though, so when I was shortstacked late, I had to take some chances. They didn't end up paying off, and my tourney was over.

I'm just getting the loss out of my system though, to ensure that it doesn't come at the BBP freeroll tomorrow night

Wink

Doh, I guess the invites already went out for that eh?

Oh well...

Too bad on the tournament loss. I mean, it's still an impressive showing, but for a hand like that you'd ideally hope something big was on the line.
