Default what is he thinking??

25nl cash table. I get AA in late position. There's three limpers, I raise 8x bb to 2 dollars. I get one caller, so there's about 5$ in the pot. Flop comes Q94 rainbow, he checks, I bet about 5$, he calls, so now there's about 15$ in the pot and we have about the same stack. Turn is K, he checks again, I move allin for about 20$ as I don't put him on JT, he calls and flips over.... A9. River, well you know, another 9.

I know I played it very aggressively, but what in the world justifies him calling me with third pair, can he really put me on a bluff? or is he really hoping for that river, a 5 outer at best in his mind... arg I'm going to sleep

8x the blinds pre flop is way too much in my opinion.... 4 or 5 times the blinds max. more than that your just gambling too much of your stack.
I like to call overbets like that myself with low cards (suited , connected, suited connected) because i know, if i hit something, the guy who overbetted the pot will bet again and be way too pot commited.

Default same in all places

you play the low limit tables and i do too this type of thing has happened to me so many times and your bet was more than eneough that he should have packed it long ago. However at these low limit tables these guys we like to call them "fish" suck out to hit usually the flush in my cases on the river partly due to their inexperience and also most guys lose 20 bucks and say big deal it was only 20...........more money that brains is what I like to say. I have tried moving up to higher limit tables and gets slightly better but still the odd guy that will spend 20 or 30 bucks to get that river card and win......

My advise to you is to stick around and wait till that hand where you know you are not beat and MILK him you will come out on top in the long run...

Hope this helps I'm no pro but this is what I have seen many times now so try it out.

Sidney
