Default 2005 Wsop Toc

Just finished watching the WSOP 2005 Tournament of Champions. Was very interesting to watch as it started with 105 entrants who qualified through doing well in the WSOP events this year. The show started with around 28 players who the majority were well known, Johnny Chan, Phil Hellmuth, Steve Dannenmen, Doyle Brunson, etc.

Dannenmen acts like an idiot and started chirping Phil Hellmuth and eventually calls him a punk whos not a real proffessional as a proffessional wouldn't act the way he does.

Won't spoil who wins it for those who have yet to watch it or heard of the results. This one is made for TV, great social interaction between Hellmuth and Matusow and a couple of others.

He's nothing special. He was pretty selective in the hands he played all throughout the Main Event and TOC, and it doesn't look like it's even possible for him to have a Matusow blowup. He's good at handling himself at the table.

Maybe this is a spoiler...In the TOC did you guys see the hand where he had KK and really took his time with it? He showed respect to the raises and thought about someone having aces. He didn't make a rash, quick call. In the end he made the right call and knocked out both players. Both were holding AQ[end]

He won't have a professional career or anything, but I don't mind watching him play (with Mute on of course , man he's a talker)

Dannenman was on one of Cardplayer.com's web radio shows. He doesn't seem to have any aspirations of playing full-time. He owns his own business and has apparently continued to operate it since his big cash at the WSOP.
