Does anybody else here listen to music while playing poker? I almost always do.

Usually I am too passive of a player, so I usually listen to some classic rock or classic metal to get mylsef to play more agressively. Some of my favorites include: AC/DC, Dio, Rush, and Black Sabbath. If I want to play a little tighter, I'll go softer with music, such as: Led Zeppelin, Boston, or Def Leppard.

This seems to work for me just to get me into the right frame on mind and long tournaments aren't as boring. This work for anyone else?

I listen to music sometimes, but it's nothing loud. I always get a headache if I keep it loud for a few hours, so I just listen to some more mellow stuff to keep me calm.

I almost always listen to music too. Although unlike you BSgutshot, I don't think it really has an impact on the way I play.

I simply listen to music, because I don't like it to be eerily quiet when I play.

But now that you mention that it affects the way you play, I am going to try to pay a little more attention to how I play when a certain style of music is playing - see if it does in fact affect how i play

I listen to music often while playing. I listen to maybe AC-DC or Ann Murry. She just rocks my world...lol. The music keeps me from getting to worried or involved in the game sometimes. Although if the game is important I like to play it quit for complete concentration.

I like to listen to music while I play just because its something relaxing to do while I am playing. Also if I am not in a hand Ill have something to do besides just watching the hand so I dont get to bored.

Also another reason why I like to have the headphones on is because if Im getting really annoyed with someone, I can just turn up the volume and tune them out.

For this question does it matter if it's live/online poker? I never bring anything with me when I play live, I bought the original IPOD and had that stolen. Online is convenient and I can load Itunes instead of having to bring anything.

I almost never listen to music when I play. I usually have a TV on in the backround so its not silent. Plus I like to hear the casino sounds when I play.

I hear the tv (2 in fact) my kids (2 in fact) and my wife (1 in fact)
