Are poker 'bots' raking online pots?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here's an article about poker bots. Enjoy:

Are poker ‘bots’ raking online pots?Pull up a chair at a friendly poker game in a buddy’s den and you probably know the other players and have some idea of their card-playing weaknesses – like Big Al's habit of fingering his chips when he's itching to raise. But take a seat at a table in one of the rapidly multiplying online card rooms and there's no telling who’s sitting to your right – or if the player is even human.

I've heard in the past that Pokerbots master limit holdem but are weak in no limit. Maybe some new ones have been developed with how much online poker is growing.

This just goes to show you how screwed up some people are. They try and scam money out of everyone anyway they can. I too have heard about these bots, but I don't care too much because I just don't see how they can win so much from me. The bots are programmed based on correct poker by odds right? Well, so do I except I also can see and read too, which the bots can't do...so take that bots.

I would assume that poker bots will just make the right call every single time. Thus, if you find yourself against someone who you might think is a bot, it seems like you could exploit it. Have you own pot odds calculator and just try to guess what they have. They also seem to be a lot more bluffable and they play a lot more straight foward.

Default yes there are

yes there are people using programs called poker bots on the internet poker sites, i personally do not have a problem with it because poker is not chess, and anyone can figure odds and figure how people will behave in certain situations. the only advantage i truly see a so called poker bot having is that it will have infinite patience which is a great assett to have, i think half of the tourneys where i have had a chip lead and didnt win was due to the fact i got anxiouus. so unless someone has access to an algorithm figuring out a sights next card or a way of seeing cards that are not dealt i have no problem with it.

just the other day i was playing at a tournament that i was sure had atleast a few poker bots. their only moves were fold and all in, all preflop too. one of them cashed as well. out in like 12th place. it was pretty sick. didn't say anything, only all in or fold
