Default WSOP Satellites

Every poker player wants to hit the WSOP main event. And every player wants to do it as cheaply as possible.

Sats are just getting started for the WSOP, at most sites. Most of us only play at a few places regularly, so I thought it would be nice to have one spot we could go to for news about WSOP promotions, etc. If you hear of one, please post it in this thread.

I'll start.

Just got this in from Full Tilt -

Quote:
That's right, if you qualify for the WSOP at Full Tilt Poker, we'll pay your entry fee, and if you go on to win a spot at the final table, we'll reward you with $50K. Finish in the top three, and we'll give you $100K. Win the whole tournament, and we'll hand over $10 million in addition to your Main Event top prize.

Pretty damn tough odds for sure, but still would be mighty nice.....

Quote:
We will hold five monthly $200K WSOP 20 Seat Freerolls starting in March. The top 20 finishers in each tournament will all win a seat to the Main Event in Las Vegas. 20 seats a month for five months - that's a total of 100 seats! What's more, each month you'll have several ways to qualify for the Freeroll without ever buying in. That's right, they're totally free. Every day, we're running Freerolls that will send players into these monthly Freerolls - look for these and all our other WSOP tournaments marked in orange. What could be better than winning a seat to the Main Event? Winning your $10K seat without spending a dime.

Quote:
Full Tilt Poker is going all in for the WSOP by putting at least 100 Main Event Seats up for grabs in a single tournament.
This extraordinary $500 + $35 tournament will be held at 6PM ET on July 16th, and we'll build up to this blockbuster starting in February. Players at every level will have a chance to get to the Big Dance through our daily satellites starting for as little as $4 + $.40 or 50 Full Tilt Points.

Quote:
Starting February 16th and running through July 13th, Full Tilt Poker will host at least two $200 + $16 Weekly WSOP Main Event Guarantee tournaments per week. These tournaments will send more than 100 players to the WSOP Main Event from now until the summer.

Quote:
One of the best ways for you to score a WSOP Main Event seat is through our Weekly $1,000 WSOP Seat Qualifier. This exciting tournament will kick off at 9PM ET on Monday, February 27th and continue each Monday through July 10th.
Players can satellite in for as little as $4 + $.40 or 50 Full Tilt points. Once you're in, your chances of winning a Main Event seat are higher than in any other satellite we offer - for every 12 players who make it to the Weekly Qualifier, one will walk away with a WSOP Main Event seat!

Whew!! That's a lot of tourneys!! There is also a reload bonus going on now, 50%, until the 28th.

Tilt is the best site for tournaments and satellites. I've got a few tokens lying around, I'll try to get into one of the $200+16 satellites from a sag. I'm planning on two smaller buyins there, but a cheaper seat in the Main Event sounds nice.

Default Party Poker Sats -

It's a bit complex, so rather than me try to explain it, it's probably best if you just check it out yourself - http://www.partypoker.com/tournament...ies/index.html

Bascially, they have regular sats, "gateway" sats, freerolls, and then their steps.

Prize is the buyin, 1K in spending money, and free hotel. (Unless you win via a freeroll).

if you are interested in playing one of the $1k buyin events in the WSOP, there are some great sats at Poker World. I won a seat to event #17 from a $20 freezeout. there were only 47 people in it, and 1st got a $1k seat plus $1k spending money. They have $20 rebuy sats every monday night with really good odds, Usually only like 30 people.

From what I know, TruePoker has a very good way of running their satellites. You can win your entry in a satellite for as cheap as FREE, as well as winning through smaller subsatellites or just paying the direct buyin to the satellite tournament.

Let me elaborate a little more on the free possibility. It is a promotion called WSOP4FREE, and I am such a strong advocate because it improved my game considerably. It all began with a round of 300 player tournaments (no entry fee!), 4 times a day, where you needed to qualify in the top 2 to receive an entry in the next tournament. As these ran for like 3 months, you had a good chance of doing so eventually. I finished 2nd in the third tournament I played in, so I qualified. The next tournament had 702 people (over 200 sitters, i don't know why!), with a 1000 dollar prize pool, as well as awarding the top 2 players a seat in a super satellite for the WSOP! the next 50 finishers split the 1000 dollars, giving them a good start.

Long story short, I got a terrible beat ( allin preflop against , he flopped a flush) it was really confusing but long story short i made the 20 bucks i won into over 300.

If you are a diehard freeroll player, this is probably your simplest option of getting a truly FREE entry into the WSOP!
