Update: Below is the new scoring system that is currently in effect.

In this course of 8 buy-in events on Sundays, the following scoring system is applied.

For each buy-in game on Sunday, the top 20 winners will receive scores as follows:

20th place - 2 point
19th place - 4 points
18th place - 6 points
17th place - 8 points
16th place - 10 points
15th place - 12 points
14th place - 14 points
13th place - 16 points
12th place - 18 points
11th place - 20 points
10th place - 22 points
9th place - 24 points
8th place - 26 points
7th place - 28 points
6th place - 30 points
5th place - 32 points
4th place - 34 points
3rd place - 36 points
2nd place - 38 points
1st place - 40 points

Additionally, players who make consecutive final tables(buy-in on Sundays only) will also be awarded extra points.

2 consecutive final tables = 2 extra points
3 consecutive final tables = 4 extra points
4 consecutive final tables = 6 extra points
and so on...

More points are awarded to those who win consecutive events.

2 consecutive wins = 5 extra points
3 consecutive wins = 10 extra points
4 consecutive wins = 15 extra points
5 consecutive wins = 20 extra points
and so on...

Moreover, 5 extra points will be awarded if you have the highest number of forum points(gained by posting) just before the buy-in events on Sundays.

Knock out the moderators (NewAlf, Texas71, Agreen, nxtyear) and get +2 extra points.

Knock out the winner in 2 consecutive events and get +2 extra points.

The final will be a freeroll and will have cool prizes. For the buy-ins, no extra money is added.

Any thought of using a negative point system. (i.e first 5-10 people out get negative points) This way if you miss a few tournies you won't fall as far behind...

That's an interesting idea Track. When I first read what you said, I didn't think it was a very good idea, but when you explained yourself, it made a lot more sense to me.

I think that would be a pretty good idea - especially since missing one tourney could be the difference between qualifying and not qualifying for the final.

I would be cool with negative points for the first 5 or so people out - I think that would also discourage any early wild play (if that is going to happen)

Yea I have seen other leagues do it and I think its a very interesting concept. This way your not going to be reward just for playing in every tourney. You actually have to do well in them and not just pick up a couple of pts for getting knocked out early.
