A new month in the online poker world brings new chances to
qualify for some of the biggest tournaments around the world - and of course
there are always big guaranteed prize pools up for grabs online. Let's take a
spin around some of our favorite poker rooms and see what's being offered this
August.
Party Poker
Party Poker has upped the ante, bringing the guaranteed prize pool in its
weekly Sunday tournament to $350,000. Direct buy-ins for this event are
$200+15, but satellites to the event run every day for $9+1, $12+1, and $24+2.
Sit-and-go sub-qualifiers are also available for $6+1. You can read more
details
here.
Also available at Party Poker are super satellites for next year's Party Poker
Million V. The estimated prize pool for this annual tournament is $10 million,
and you can win your way in for as little as $10. More information on
satellites for the tournament, as well as information on the prize package, is
available
here.
Poker Stars
Poker Stars' weekly Sunday tournament, which the site bills as the "world's
largest weekly tournament," now has a guaranteed prize pool of $500,000. A
direct buy-in will cost you $200+15, but low-cost satellites are available
throughout the week.
August is the month to qualify for the 4th Annual World Championship of Online
Poker at Poker Stars, billed as the "world's largest online poker tournament."
Last year's main event winner took home over $526,000! This year's schedule of
tournaments will include 15 tournaments over 15 days in early September, with
chances to win a gold bracelet in Limit Hold'em, No-Limit Hold'em, 6-max and
full-table Pot-Limit Hold'em, Pot Limit Omaha, Limit Omaha Hi/Lo, Seven Card
Stud, and Seven Stud Hi/Lo. With a total guaranteed prize pool of more than $8
million, the WCOOP is an event no online tournament player should miss.
Satellites are available around the clock, and you can buy in with cash,
Frequent Player Points, or tournament dollars ($W and $T) already in your
account. More information on the WCOOP is available
here.
InterPoker
The biggest tournament draw at InterPoker this month has to be the satellites
for the Caribbean Poker Classic, held every Sunday at 1 PM EDT. A direct
buy-in for this satellite tournament is $200+10, with single-table satellites
available for $30+3 and $42+4 and multi-table satellites available for $15+1.
The prize package for winning is truly impressive: $2400 in cash, a 9-night
late autumn at the St. Kitts Marriott, a buy-in to the CPC Main Event, and
free entry into seven different "Designer Watch Freeroll" tournaments will all
be awarded to each satellite winner.
This tournament begins in late November on the beautiful Caribbean island of
St. Kitts, and you can only win your way in through InterPoker. For more
information, visit InterPoker's Caribbean Poker Classic site

satellites for not one but three international poker events running all month
long.
The first of these is the Borgata Poker Open in Atlantic City, NJ, one of the
stops on the World Poker Tour. If you don't want to buy in directly for

London, England, a stop on the European Poker Tour (EPT). Doyle's Room is
holding a super satellite for this tournament on Friday, August 26th, and
there are multiple ways to participate. Buying in directly will cost

One of the best parts of playing poker online is the chance to qualify for big
tournaments through cheap satellites. This month's satellite schedule offers
lots of opportunities to travel and play poker, and a small entry fee could
end up taking you a long way. Good luck!
