Here's a look at some of the December tournament action at
UltimateBet and Party Poker.
UltimateBet
If you're a fan of guaranteed prize pool tournaments, UltimateBet will be a
great place for you to play in December.
Every Wednesday at 9 PM ET it's time for the $50,000 Guaranteed tournament at
UltimateBet. There are four different ways to enter this $200+15 tourney - a
direct cash buy-in, using a Tournament Entry Chip (TEC) + $115, using 50,000
Ultimate Points, or winning a direct entry through a feeder tournament. Turbo
rebuy feeders feature a buy-in of $3+.30 and run several times daily.
Regularly-structured feeders cost $10+1 and pay out one seat in the $50,000
Guaranteed for every 20 players entered - these also run several times each
day. The full schedule of feeder tournaments is available here.
The $50,000 Guaranteed is big, but it's not the biggest event of the week at
UltimateBet. That honor belongs to the $150,000 Guaranteed tournament, held
every Sunday at 8 PM ET. It's hard to pass up an online tournament where 1st
place routinely pays out over $30,000 - especially when feeder tournaments are
available on a regular schedule. Turbo feeders are available for $3+.30 and
regular feeders run for $10+1. These tournaments are available multiple times
every day, giving you plenty of opportunities to win your way into a chance at
some serious money - the schedule of feeder tourneys is available here.
To cap things off in December, UltimateBet is running satellites all month
long to its $1,000,000 Guaranteed Tournament on Sunday, January 15, 2006. Not
only is there a cool million up for grabs in this tourney, but UltimateBet is
also throwing in 10 WSOP Main Event prize packages worth $12,000 each. There
are more ways into this gigantic tournament than any other at UltimateBet,
thanks to a full schedule of feeders that includes single- and multi-table
sit-and-go tournaments. There is also a weekly freeroll tournament for
1st-time depositors which awards 5 entries into the big tournament - if you
don't have an account at UltimateBet yet, this is a good time to start one. If
the $1,000,000 Guaranteed sounds like your sort of tournament you'll want to
check out the satellite schedule here.
Party Poker
The largest poker room on the internet is rolling out one of its most creative
promotions to date with the High Flier Jet Promo. This $250+20 tournament, to
be held on January 15, 2006, features $600,000 in total prizes, including a
few you won't be able to win anywhere else. The 1st place prize is a $125,000
package of 25 hours of airtime in a luxury private jet for the winner and up
to 6 friends, usable at over 5,500 airports around the world. 2nd place
through 6th place will each win a Mercedes vehicle worth at least $50,000, and
7th through 220th will receive cash payouts. Multi-table satellites for the
High Flier Jet Promo are currently running daily at Party Poker - $5+.50
qualifiers run at 7:45 PM ET, while $10+1 qualifiers run at 10:35 PM ET.
Sit-and-go qualifiers are also running around the clock, with entry starting
as low as $5+1.
Also running this month at Party Poker are satellites for the Canadian Poker
Championships, to be held January 29th through February 4th, 2006, at the
luxurious Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas. This televised $5,000 buy-in
tournament will have a prize pool of $2,000,000, and the only way to win entry
is through satellites at Party Poker. There are two main satellites to the
CPC. The $200+15 CPC Satellite, held Wednesdays at 10 PM ET, awards one $8,000
prize package for every 40 players entered. The $800+50 CPC Special, held
Saturdays at 2 PM ET, awards one $8,000 prize package for every 10 players
entered. For anyone looking for a cheaper way to get involved with the CPC
action, there are two lower-tier qualifiers for both the the CPC Satellite and
the CPC Special. The $30+3 CPC Qualifier runs nightly at 8:10 PM ET, and the
$5+1 CPC Sub-Qualifier runs nightly at 9:40 PM ET; these events feed into the
$200+15 CPC Satellite. The $90+9 CPC Special Qualifier runs every Monday,
Wednesday, Friday & Saturday at 11 PM ET, and the $10+1 CPC Special
Sub-Qualifier sit-and-go tournaments run around the clock. The prize package
for the tournament includes the $5,000 buy-in, 6 nights at the Atlantis Resort
in Nassau, and $1,100 in spending money.
