Here's a quick look at some of the tournaments coming up on
Paradise Poker and the Prima Poker network this month.
Paradise Poker
The Bay 101 Shooting Stars tournament in San Jose, CA, is one of the more
unique stops on the World Poker Tour, thanks to the bounties placed on the
big names of poker that play in the tourney. Knocking out a star is worth
real money, giving the event that extra little twist that makes it fun for
everyone. If you've ever wanted to play in this tournament, you'll want to
check out the satellites for it currently running at Paradise Poker. Every
Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday at 10 PM ET a $200 buy-in WPT Bay101 tourney
runs at Paradise, with one $11,000 prize package being awarded for every 55
entries. There are also daily $4 rebuy tournaments available that feed into
the $200 tourneys. The Bay 101 Shooting Stars tournament will be held from
February 27th to March 3rd, 2006.
For the fourth time, Paradise Poker is holding its own tournament series, the
Paradise Masters IV - and satellites will be up and running this month. The
Masters series has already awarded over $4 million in prizes to date, and
the fourth iteration will hold $3 million in guaranteed prize pools. Among
the tournaments available over nine days in January are Limit Hold'em,
Pot-Limit Hold'em, No-Limit Hold'em, short-handed No-Limit Hold'em, and
Pot-Limit Omaha. The buy-ins for these events range from $200 to $1,000, and
the guaranteed prize pools range between $100,000 and $1 million. Blind
levels for every event are 30 minutes, and the starting chip stack is
$2,500. Satellites for these big-money events begin on December 10th - for
more information on the Paradise Masters IV, check
here.
Prima Poker Network
A $100,000 Guaranteed tournament will be held every Sunday at 3:30 PM ET
throughout the month of December on the Prima Poker network. With a buy-in
of $50+5, this is one of the best deals you'll find on the net for such a
large guaranteed prize pool. Even better than the chance to win big money is
the opportunity to get in cheaply through qualifier tournaments. Monday
through Friday you can enter a $10+1 satellite at either 4:30 AM or 3:45 PM
ET where one seat will be awarded for every 5 entries, and one qualifier
with the same buy-in will run every Saturday evening at 10 PM ET.
If you'd rather play in a live tournament than stay at home in front of your
computer, you've got two different tourneys to qualify for at Prima in
December. The European Poker Tour's Scandinavian Open is due to be held at
Casino Copenhagen in Denmark January 19th through the 22nd, 2006, and
satellites for this tournament are now running on the Prima network.
Sit-and-go qualifiers to the Multi Table Final are currently running around
the clock, with buy-ins of $94+9, $47+4.50, and $23.50+2.25. Every weekday
at 2:45 PM ET a $23.50+2.25 multi-table qualifier runs, awarding one seat
into the Multi Table Final for every 20 registered players. On Saturday,
December 10th, at 3:45 PM ET a $47+4.50 multi-table qualifier will award one
seat for every 10 players. The Multi Table Final will run at 3:30 PM ET on
Saturday, December 17th, sporting a $470+45 entry fee and awarding one seat
in the EPT event for every 20 players.
There's a little more time left before the WPT's World Poker Challenge goes
off in Reno - the tournament will be held from March 27th through the 30th
next year - so you've got plenty of time to win your entry through
satellites on the Prima network. Sit-and-go satellites to the Multi Table
Final run around the clock for $76+7, with 1 in 10 players winning entry.
Multi-table satellites are also currently running. At 3:45 PM ET every
weekday a $7.60+.70 multi-table 1st-level qualifier awards one seat to the
2nd-level qualifier for every 10 players, and at 8:45 PM ET every weeknight,
a $15.20+1.40 1st-level satellite awards one seat into the 2nd-level
qualifier for every 5 players. The $76+7 2nd-level qualifiers run every
Saturday at 3:45 PM ET and award one seat into the Multi Table Final for
every 10 players. The Multi Table Final, a $760+70 entry fee tournament,
will be held on Saturday, February 26th, 2006.
