Here's a look at some of the tournaments running at Bodog
and Titan Poker this month.
Bodog
Plenty of big tournaments worth playing are running at Bodog this month. One
of the most attractive is the weekly $100,000 Guaranteed Tournament, running
every Sunday at 2 PM ET. This tournament pays out a total prize pool of
$100,000 no matter how many players pay in. With numerous satellites running
all week long, there are plenty of opportunities to take a shot at a big
prize. The Cheap Seats tournaments are the cheapest way to get involved. These
$1+0 tournaments award enough tournament credits to enter the $100,000
Semi-Final for every 24 players entered, and they run 8 times throughout the
week. The tournament credits can buy a winner into either 2 $10+1 Semi-Final
tournaments or 1 $22+2 shorthanded sit-and-go Semi-Final tournament.
Players can enter the Semi-Finals tournaments either with tournament credits,
or by buying in directly for $10+1 or $22+2. One of every 11 players will win
enough tournament credits to enter the Final. Those who would rather save
their cash can enter a Semi-Final with 250 Bodog Poker Points. One player of
every 27 entered will win enough tournament credits to enter the $100,000
Guaranteed Final. Finally, direct entry into the $100,000 Guaranteed Final can
be bought for $100+9. However you get involved, a guaranteed prize pool that
large is definitely worth playing for.
Also running at Bodog this month are satellites for the WSOP Circuit event at
Caesars Atlantic City in late March 2006. Now is a good time to get involved,
when the player fields are smaller than they will be as the event draws
nearer. The total prize package for this WSOP Circuit event is $12,000,
including the $10,000+100 buy-in and $1,900 to cover expenses. Like other
tournaments at Bodog, those wishing to qualify for their seat at the WSOP
Circuit have several options. At least one $1.50+0 Cheap Seats tournament is
held each day, with 1 of 20 entrants winning entry into the Qualifier. One of
every 6 players in the $5+.50 Qualifier tournaments will win a seat in the
Quarterfinals. The Quarterfinals, which feature a $27+2 buy-in, award 1 seat
in the Semifinals for every 10 players entered. At least one Qualifier and one
Quarterfinal tournament runs each day at Bodog. Finally, sit-and-go tournament
awarding seats in the Qualifier and Quarterfinal tournaments are available for
200 Points and 2000 points, respectively. Upon reaching the Semi-Final, either
through qualifying or buying in directly for $250+20, one seat at the WSOP
Circuit will be awarded for every 48 players entered into the tournament.
Titan Poker
Titan Poker is part of the iPoker network, along with other sites like Noble
Poker. Like its network partners, Titan runs several sit-and-go jackpot
promotions. Among the newest of these is the Fort Knox Jackpot. In order to
qualify for the jackpot prize, players must meet certain conditions. First,
they must win six consecutive 6-man $50+7 Fort Knox sit-and-go tournaments.
Next, they must e-mail Titan Poker support and provide the details and dates
of each tournament they have won. Finally, their play must stand up to Titan
Poker's check for collusive play or offensive language during the course of
the tournaments. Barring any missteps in these areas, the winner of six
consecutive tournaments will be awarded the jackpot of $100,000. Anyone who
finishes either 1st or 2nd in six consecutive tournaments, and meets the same
requirements as anyone winning six, will be awarded a $750 prize.
Titan also has several guaranteed prize pool tournaments running throughout
November. The weekly $15,000 Guaranteed tournament used to be a rebuy
tournament, but has now switched formats to become a freezeout. Running every
Sunday at 5 PM ET with a price of $50+5, this big prize pool on a low traffic
site has to be a tempting prize for any tournament player on the net today.
Sit-and-go qualifiers run around the clock, and multi-table qualifiers for
cheap entry run at 9:30 PM ET every day. For a slightly smaller entry fee,
players can have a go at the $10,000 Guaranteed tournament, which runs every
Saturday at 4:30 PM ET. While it isn't a freezeout like the $15,000
Guaranteed, players can only make 3 rebuys and 1 add-on at the end of the
first hour. Direct buy-in to this tournament costs $30+1.50, or a seat can be
won through $5+.50 6-player sit-and-go satellites which run all day every day.
Finally there's the daily $3,000 Guaranteed tournament, running at 9 PM ET
every Monday through Saturday. The buy-in for this daily tournament is a low
$10+1, so no satellite qualifiers are available.
