Here's a look at some of the October tournament action at
two more online card rooms.
Doyle's Room
As always, there's plenty of tournament action at Doyle's Room this month.
Guaranteed tourneys abound, with daily prize pools as large as $10,000.
Sundays are where the real action is at Doyle's Room. On the 9th and the
23rd a $36 rebuy tournament will be held with a $50,000 guaranteed prize
pool, and on 16th and 30th a $27 rebuy tournament will feature a $25,000
guarantee. There's enough money going around to make giving the feeder
satellites a couple of tries if you play tournament poker at all.
If you're looking for something a little bigger than a daily online
tournament, there are plenty of other options to choose from. Europe is
awash in poker tournaments over the next few months, and at Doyle's Room
there are plenty of ways to end up playing there. $54+2.70 super satellites
to the Irish Masters EPT event at the Merrion Club Casino in Dublin will run
at 8 PM GMT (4 PM ET) on the 4th and 11th this month. The north end of the
Emerald Isle is having its own poker tournament, too; starting on the 18th,
$36+1.80 super satellites to the Northern Ireland Championship at the
Cavendish Club in Belfast will be available every Tuesday at 8:00 PM GMT. If
Holland is more your style than Ireland, every Wednesday at 8:30 PM GMT and
Thursday at 9:00 PM GMT you can enter a $72+3.60 super satellite to the
Master Classics of Poker in Amsterdam.
If you'd rather play for big money in North America, Doyle's Room is offering
super satellites to some of the biggest tournaments coming up at the end of
this year. On Saturday the 29th a $198+19.80 satellite to the World Poker
Finals at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Connecticut will take place at 10:45 PM
GMT, with the winners receiving a $12,500 prize package to the prestigious
WPT event. On the 30th at midnight GMT, Doyle's Room will hold its super
satellite to the Ultimate Poker Challenge at the Plaza in downtown Las
Vegas. Winners of this $198+19.80 tournament will receive a $12,000 prize
package including entry into the televised $10,000+200 main event.
Single-table and multi-table qualifiers for these satellite, and for all the
major satellite tournaments at Doyle's Room, are regularly available - a
schedule of these can be found
here.
Poker
Room
Poker Room is another great place for tournament lovers to play, with
satellites and guaranteed prize pools to play for every day of the week.
Monday through Thursday, you can play in two guaranteed tournaments a day
for $20+2 - a $10,000 guarantee at noon ET, and a $20,000 guarantee at 9 PM
ET. On Fridays, the noon tourney is worth $15,000, and the 9 PM tourney is
worth $40,000. When the weekend comes the prizes get bigger - Saturday's
noon tourney is a $20,000 guarantee, and the 9 PM tourney is good for
$50,000. The biggest tournament on the schedule all week, the Big Deal at 2
PM ET on Sundays, is a $60,000 guarantee with a $300+20 entry. Satellites to
all these tournaments are available every day. There are a few more big
tournaments each week at Poker Room outside of the guaranteed prize pools,
too. The Midnight Oil is a nightly 2 AM $20+2 tourney with prizes including
cash and entries into the Grand Prix tournament, a weekly Sunday $100+8
tourney. Both of these tournaments have satellite qualifiers available every
day.
Satellites to one of the world's biggest poker tournaments, the WPT
Five-Diamond World Classic at Bellagio in Las Vegas, are also available at
Poker Room. For $400+20 every Saturday at 6 PM ET, you can take a shot at an
$18,500 prize package. If you don't want to put all the money up yourself,
feeders to these tournaments are available. $5+.50 Stage 1 qualifiers are
run nine times daily, and $42+3 Stage 2 qualifiers run four times each day.
Finally, if low buy-ins are more to your liking, Poker Room has some great
tournaments for you. The Lucky Dollar tournaments feature a buy-in of $1 and
all have anywhere from $250 to $2,500 cash added to the prize pool. These
tourneys run three times daily during the week, with a 4th tournament being
added on weekends. Player points Freerolls are also held twice a week for
players who have played in Poker Room cash games - a $6,000 freeroll for
players with over 500 points, and a $3,000 tournament for those with over
150 points. In addition, everyone with over 100 points has a chance to win
entry into the $6,000 freeroll through a turbo qualifier every Saturday at
10 AM ET.
