UltimateBet
Right now, UltimateBet is all about Aruba. The upcoming September 23 start of
the UltimateBet Poker Classic means that satellite tournaments are running
like crazy. The fun culminates September 16 with a 25 seat guaranteed $1000
buy-in MTT. Each package is valued at $10,000, and includes travel plus the
$5200 entry into the main event. Pro Bounty satellites to Aruba have also been
added. Several of the UltimateBet pros, including Antonio Esfandiari and Annie
Duke, are playing. If you knock one of them out, your buy-in is refunded, so
you’re getting a shot at Aruba for free!
Elimination Blackjack tournaments are now on the schedule at UltimateBet! This
is an exciting tournament format. Players start with $25,000 in tournament
chips and play regular casino blackjack to accumulate as many chips as
possible. Elimination hands and secret bets are just part of the fun. This is
an exciting tournament that is worth a few tries.
The Aruba Classic and the introduction of Blackjack games at UB are no mere
coincidence. The new Ultimate Blackjack Tour will have a tournament in Aruba
at the same time, and there will be a freeroll for online (poker) qualifiers
to win a seat in the Blackjack tournament too.
Cash game players are often ignored in the promotions area (other than deposit
bonuses, of course). For September, this will change at UB. The top ten
Ultimate Points earners each week will be awarded cash or apparel items. There
are two tiers of awards so low limit players have a shot at some prizes.
September Bonuses: A first deposit bonus of 100% up to $650 is
available. It clears quickly at the amazingly fast cash games. Very regular
reload bonuses are offered. UB is one site that is tough on bonus abusers, so
some overplay after clearing the bonus is recommended.
Pacific Poker
The dust hasn’t even settled from Jamie Gold’s Main Event win at the World
Series of Poker, but Pacific Poker is already running satellites to the 2007
event! Harrah’s hasn’t set the date, but Pacific doesn’t care. They offer
weekly Saturday satellites ($125+10) that award $14,000 Main Event packages.
The Showdown Survivor is another promotion that benefits cash game players. On
five dates in September, an 18-hour period is the showdown time. Each time a
hand plays to showdown, the players in the showdown receive points. The top
100 point earners each day earn bonus cash from $25 up to $200.
September Bonuses: Pacific Poker offers a 25% up to $100 first deposit
bonus.
Poker.com
This ambitious site has refused to go the network route by sharing game
servers with several other sites. Instead, they stand alone. Their excellent
software and customer service has built their player base to as many as 6000
players at a time.
The freerolls offered by Poker.com are some of the best. $50 is given away
every two hours, and there is a daily freeroll of at least $1000 (as much as
$10,000). New members are entitled to enter New Player freerolls for four
weeks. These award $50 and run every three hours. New players also get a
ticket to a $500 new player freeroll, which is valid for one week.
Some innovative features of the software include player icons. If you
recognize a fish or a shark, you can tag that player so an icon will appear on
the table next to their username. The “Expose One Card” lets you expose one of
your hole cards when the other player folds. The “Rabbit Hunt” feature lets
you have the remaining cards dealt after a hand is folded out to find out if
you would have filled your flush. The penalty is that this exposes your
pathetic hole cards to the rest of the table.
Poker.com also allows immediate withdrawals (with restrictions) to
Neteller or Click2Pay accounts, to keep your bankroll liquid.
September Bonus: first deposits receive 100% up to $100. This clears at $1 per
200 comp points (see site for details), and is released in $10 increments.
First depositors also receive an entry into the October 1 freeroll that will
award a $12,500 Aussie Millions tournament package.
