Here are some of the online qualifier tournaments available in February.
Full Tilt Poker
One of the best satellite deals at any online poker room is the Winner's
Choice tournament at Full Tilt Poker. Not only does the winner get a $12,000
prize package including entry into a major tournament, but he gets to choose
which tournament he wants to play. One Full Tilt player, Peter "Nordberg"
Feldman, turned a Winner's Choice satellite into 7th place at the Borgata
Winter Open and almost $74,000.
The first of February's Winner's Choice satellites will be held on Saturday,
February 4th, the last day to qualify for the LA Poker Classic. For the rest
of the month, $200+16 Winner's Choice satellites will be held every Tuesday
and Saturday at 9 PM ET. Those who qualify through these satellites will have
their choice of entry into the Bay 101 Shooting Star (February 27-March 3),
Foxwoods Poker Classic (April 6-9), or the Caesars Palace Las Vegas WSOP
Circuit (April 12-14). Single- and multi-table satellites to the $200+16
qualifiers start as low as $4+.40 - "Nordberg" won his seat with a single
$24+2 investment.
Also running in February is another installment in the Jersey Days promotion.
This month's jersey is a limited edition, USA-themed Full Tilt Poker hockey
jersey in celebration of the Winter Games being held this month in Torino,
Italy. Four daily freerolls will be held every day through February 14th, the
top 3 finishers from each of which will play in the final Jersey Days
tournament at 5:45 PM ET on Saturday, February 18th. The top nine finishers in
the Jersey Days tourney will take home a personalized jersey - and even
better, for free!
InterPoker
Probably the most exciting development at InterPoker is the new LOQ
(Land-based Online Qualification) Series. InterPoker recently asked its
players what they wanted more of at the online card room, and one of the
biggest responses was more chances to enter big tournaments at casinos around
the world. The result is the LOQ, a regular tournament series starting Sunday,
February 5th, that offers players the chance to qualify for the biggest
land-based poker tournaments offered today.
The big tournament is the weekly $705+45 LOQ event, held at 9:00 PM GMT every
Saturday. The winners of each Saturday tournament will receive a list of
tournaments they can enter from InterPoker via email, and once they've chosen
the tournament they want to play in they'll be awarded $15,500 for tournament
entry, travel, and hotel arrangements. The list of tournaments available to
winners of the LOQ series is staggering: 20 events from March 2006 to February
2007, including 12 World Poker Tour tournaments, 5 European Poker Tour events,
the Caribbean Poker Classic, and the World Series of Poker Main Event.
The range of ways to win your way into the $705+45 LOQ event is nearly as
good. For those with small bankrolls, daily $1+.20 and $7.50+.75 multi-table
tournaments are available Sunday through Friday that both guarantee one seat
to the big tourney. Regular multi-table satellites run twice daily Sunday
through Friday for $9+1, with the winners getting a seat into the $75+6
multi-table direct qualifier held four times weekly. Single-table qualifiers
to the LOQ event are also available at buy-ins of $17+1.70, $100+9, and
