Ultimate Bet

Ultimate Bet - With top players like Phil Hellmuth, Annie Duke, and Devilfish Ulliott endorsing Ultimate Bet, it’s impossible to ignore it when looking for a new site to spend some time at. With an established team of pros, a good promotional campaign, and large player volumes, Ultimate Bet appears to be doing quite well, so I decided to get in on the action.

Ultimate Bet’s homepage is all business; the promotions, download box, and impressive professional team are all front and centre. The layout is easy to use, and there are some useful quick links, like basic strategy for poker, and how to get started in online play. Everything is quick and accessible, so navigating the menu is a snap.

While the mainpage has mostly standard pages, Ultimate Bet scores some instant points for having Poker News. They even have a blurb on WSOP and WPT history and events, and the whole thing is enthusiast-friendly and useful to someone who is new to the Poker scene. Once I finished navigating these pages, it was time to download.

The download went quickly and easily, and software installation was similarly trouble-free. Once I was down with this, it was off to the lobby to get seated at a table and underway. This was a very simple task, as Ultimate Bet’s lobby is very easy to navigate, and there is a large population at any of the variety of games they offer. The tournament section was also very active with lots of players at every level. Ultimate Bet also has the unique feature of offering Play Money tournaments, which are very useful for new players who wish to practice their tournament and heads-up play.

The gameplay at Ultimate Bet was overall very good; my biggest (and only real) complaint centers around the graphics: Ultimate Bet’s game does not feature any characters or anything at the table, just numbers. Other than that, the game plays very nicely. The action moves very quickly around the table, and it seems like a large number of hands are played relative to time spent. This makes a good playing experience, however it doesn’t really stand out in any way.

Without a doubt, one of the greatest strengths of this site is the promotions they offer. There are big money tournaments going on all the time, and a multitude of WSOP and WPT satellites, and Ultimate Bet also has its own major televised tournament. The best part? A satellite entry is only $5!

After spending some time at Ultimate Bet, it’s clear that they have the deck a bit stacked. This is a great site! It has the goods to compete with just about any other site on the net; the only thing it really needs is a graphic upgrade.
